"I truly believe you only hang out with me because of my bed" Charlie sighed.

Leo grinned."That's not true Charlie,I hang out with you because you have a big screen and a sick game system" he scuffed. "You're an asshole."

"So I've been told." Leo sat up on the bed. "But seriously we need to work" he looked at Charlie who looked at him as if he was crazy.

"I've been trying to get your lazy ass to work for like a half hour now, you know what three days matter of fact" the blond announced rolling his eyes.

It's only been three days and they haven't really talked about nun just the basics like 'what's your favorite color' etc every time they were going to start Leo's project they'd just procrastinate saying they'd do it after watching a movie or playing basketball but never do.

"Okay okay, sheesh what do u wanna start with first?" The blue eyed boy shrugged.

"I don't know man you're project, what would you like to know?" He shifted on the bed so he would sit next to Leo against the headboard.

"How about you tell me something about you an in return I tell you something about me?" Leo asked.

"Okay deal." Charlie smiled at me. "You first tho" Leo said looking at Charlie who was staring back at him.

"okay, believe it or not I use to be a huge nerd." Leo blinks at him. "Nah I'm serious glasses and all." he laughed.

"I don't believe you" Leo said causing Charlie to shrug then he reached over and pulled out something from his nightstand. Positioning himself back next to Leo he gave him A old photo.

Leo looked at the phone and saw a boy with mop blond hair with some brown his eyes were such a light blue you would think they were gray if you glanced. He looked like Charlie except younger and more skinny.

He had square glasses with black frames and he was holding an award with an medal around his neck, he had some machine behind him looked like he was at a Science convention.

" awe Charlie you were so cute" Leo awed.

"Fuck off mate" Charlie said with no meaning behind it.

"What happened?" Leo asked. Charlie gave him a questionable look. "How do you go from wearing glasses and wining first place in Science to becoming a hot basketball player and having girls all over you?" He asked more specific this time.

The blond smirked. "You think I'm hot huh?"

"Now you fuck off" he pushed Charlie a little. He looked at the picture again this time noticing a boy. "Charlie who's this?" He pointed to the boy

"Umm h-he was my best friend"

"Are you still friends?"

"he ran off when he was 17, never heard from him again" he looked down at his hands. "W-what happened to him?" Charlie looked up at him.

"He had a rough childhood, guess he got tired of it and bailed." Leo put his hand on Charlie's. " you don't have to talk about it if you don't want to" he saw the sad expression in Charlie's face.

"No it's fine I need to talk about it with someone." It felt like forever until Charlie started to talk again.

"We met in third grade this kid named Dale pushed me called me a nerd, broke my glasses even. but then this kid came along and he pushed him off of me, told him to leave me alone before helping me up he even walked me home, come to find out he was my new neighbor and every since we were inseparable." Leo squeezed his hand for comfort.

" we did everything together, told each other everything. we were like brothers his parents were like mine. my parents barely had time for me especially with the divorce, so when his mom died it was really hard on us mostly on his dad tho, it was like when she died so did he I mean it's understandable she was the love of his life.

But he still had a son to raise guess he didn't care, he just got drunk every night and bring home different women. one day he told me how his dad would come home some nights so drunk he'd beat him, he'd beat him until he was unconscious and how sometimes he'd rape him some days he couldn't walk.

He even sold him to other men sometimes" Charlie was in full tears now Leo rapped him in his arms while he continued.

"He was only 13, I was supposed to protect him like he protected me, we promise each other we would protect each other and I couldn't do anything about it. I just sat in my room heard and saw it happen, and he was right next door right there. all I had to do was go over there. but my dad stopped me and it pissed me off because EVERYONE KNEW EVERYONE AND THEY DID NOTHING THEY SAT AND THEY HEARD HIM CRY OUT FOR HELP AND THEY DID NOTHING !" Charlie shouted out in anger turning red from crying and yelling.

"It was hell" he softly said calming down. Leo hugged him tight he knew Charlie needed to get this all out so he asked. "Then what happened after all that did he leave?"

"No, one Wednesday night we met up in the woods where we'd always hang out, it was like our special place. he told me he was tired of living in that hell hole. Told me that we'd always be brothers that it was us against this fucked up ass world and one day we'd leave it all behind it'd be just me and him.

Come Friday night, I was sleep but woke up to the sounds of sirens I looked out my window and the police were next door, I went to wake up my dad so I could go over. I went too his room to wake him up, but he didn't budge that's when I felt something wet and thick so I turned on the light.

That's when I saw him covered in blood , I ran outside and got the police but when I glanced, I saw his dad in a body bag. I asked if they'd seen a boy around my age, they said no. I went to my room and cried I calmed down when I saw a letter on my desk, I went an opened it then I read it. I remember every word.....it said."

Deal Charlie,
I know you're scared and you probably think I've been kidnaped
But I'm fine. I'm so sorry for what I did but I had to or else I would never get out of that hell whole I'm sorry I killed your dad but I did it for you moe so you can get out too, you see moe you got your whole life ahead of you, you're smart you're going places kid but it's too late for me I would have took you with me, like we planned but I'm only gonna hold you back and I can't do that to you moe, but don't worry I'll be watching you and when the time is right We'll see each other again.

"And that was that, come to find out he murdered out neighbors too. since that uncle Bobby took me in, and I gave up on him finding me." Charlie finished his voice was strained from crying and yelling.

"I'm so sorry Charlie" he had tears to.

"It's okay wasn't your fault"

After a couple of mins Leo spoke up. "Moe ?" He asked curiously. "Yeah that was the nickname he gave me because when we was young I'd always snitch when he ate my food and I called him buddy, even though he acted the oldest I was really the oldest"

"So, what was his name then?"

Charlie sat up and looked at Leo an smiled.

"His name was Tom."
