Chapter 7: love is all you need

These snacks on the table were very similar to powdered donuts. But they weren't it was interesting. I placed one in my mouth, as it immediately just melts. I make sure I didn't have anything on my face when I get blindsided by a question from Carlitos mom.

Carlitos mom: so how long have you two been dating?

I instantly choke, I cover my mouth and look at Carlitos face. He looks back at me emotionless and looks back at his mom. I struggle to finish the snack that was in my mouth but when I had the chance I blurted out one word.

Jazzy: no!
Carlitos mom: no? What?
Jazzy: uh...no we're not dating.

I look at Carlito again as I'm wondering why he didn't say anything to his mother. Did he want her to think that? Did he tell his family we were dating!?

Jazzy: isn't that right Carlito?
Carlito: trust me, even if she was the last girl on earth I wouldn't date her.

His little brother laughs. Is he laughing at that? Wow the jerkiness runs in the family I see.

Carlitos mom: oh Carlito, don't say that she looks very lovely and very nice. I've always wanted to have a daughter I'm so glad that you're here to join us for dinner.
Jazzy: dinner?
Carlito: dinner? No no no she isn't here to stay.
Carlitos mom: yes she is Carlito. As long as she is a guest in my house she will stay for dinner.
Jazzy: did you hear that Carlito? As long as I am a guest in HER house. Mhm.
Carlito: sigh whatever come up stairs I need you to do something for me.

We walk up the stairs to his room. As I start getting closer I can see how many books he has in his room. But I see no textbooks.

Jazzy: why don't you have any textbooks?
Carlito: when you're as smart as me, you won't need textbooks.
Jazzy: yea right.
Carlito: In all honestly I look at the textbook once and I already memorize it. The information sticks in my brain.
Jazzy: wow you're amazing.

I cover my mouth as soon as I finished that sentence. Oh no, I'm giving in. His looks is one thing but his brilliance is another. He's gonna think I'm really falling for him. But aren't I already?

Carlito: giggles you love me more and more everyday huh?
Jazzy: no I was just appeasing you're ego.
Carlito: oh is that so? Cause what it seems like is that you caught yourself falling for me.
Jazzy: I'm not falling for you nor will I ever fall for you.
Carlito: I don't think so

He steps closer and closer to me. I think I can guess what's about to happen to me. This time I panicked, I didn't know what else to do expect shut my eyes and clench my fist.
