Chapter 9: a kiss of mischevious

Once we fell, I could tell that I was on top of Carlito. He broke my fall. But I still was shocked at how fast the fall happened. When I finally opened my eyes, I could feel the body heat of Carlito against mines. I wasn't quite sure what was going on until he opened up his eyes. Our lips were right on top of each other. We were kissing in a sense, but it was still a kiss. Carlitos mom knocks on the door, I'm guessing to check if everything is all right. We both immediately get up and sit up straight as if nothing happened.

Carlitos mom: is everything okay?
Jazzy: yep perfect
Carlito: couldn't be better
Carlitos mom: what was that sound that I just heard? Did someone get hurt?
Carlito: Nope
Jazzy: totally fine.
Carlitos mom: well alright then. Just let me know do you need anything ok. Anything at all.
Carlito: yes, will do mom
Jazzy: thank you again.

She closes the door behind her once more. As the door shuts, I hurry up and scoot away from Carlito while covering my mouth.

Jazzy: this is the second time you stole a kiss from me.
Carlito: lets be real it's all your adult, you're the one who came after me.
Jazzy: oh so this is my fault now? What about you kissing me at school? Was that my fault too?
Carlito: I mean yea kind of, if you weren't so "ahhh I love Carlito" " ahh I'm gonna show you, you'll love me" then I wouldn't need to kiss you.
Jazzy: what do that was your way of shutting me up?
Carlito: pretty much
Jazzy: what type of person kisses someone to shut them up.
Carlito: me I guess
Jazzy: I swear you're the weirdest person I ever met.
Carlito: but you liked it though
Jazzy: ha what!
Carlito: you liked when I kissed you at school didn't you?
Jazzy:...just take the stupid picture of me with the books.
Carlito: see.

Of course I wasn't going to just blindly admit that I liked the kiss. I'm trying to have him fall in love with me remember not the other way around. As much as I want for him to say he loves me, it seems like he always has an advantage over me. I don't know if I'll be able to win against him. We finished up the pictures and ate dinner. I said my goodbyes to Carlitos family and headed home. As I got home, I went upstairs to my room and Kaye's in bed. I thought to myself, today was very interesting and eventful. I wonder what will happen tomorrow. I don't really know what I was looking forward to but I was looking forward to it. The next morning I got ready for school and headed downstairs on my way to the door. I got a text from jelani saying that he's staying at shays for even longer and that he won't be home for some time. I head out the door with a sad look on my face. As I'm walking out in stopped by two long legs, I scan them and make my way to look up at the face. And there I see him in the flesh Carlito patiently waiting for me to get out my house.

Carlito: do you wanna walk to school?
Jazzy: I can't hide my smile as I respond yes!
