Torvill and Who?

Chapter 2

Sorry guys! Another short chapter. They will probably get longer as the story goes on! Hope you like it!

At the hospital Jayne was walking around in circles waiting to see Chris.

"Ms Torvill?" Jayne turned around and walked towards the doctor.

"Hi, I'm Dr Barnes. Chris is asking to see you." The doctor said shaking Jaynes hand.

"How is he? Is everything alright? Is there any lasting damage?" Jayne asked about 20 questions by the time they had reached the room where Chris was resting.

"Ms Torvill, Chris is alright and there is no lasting damage. He will however have to stay off the ice for a number of weeks, as he has bruised some muscle in his lower back and he had a pretty nasty hit to the head." The doctor said trying to calm Jayne down.

"I'm sorry, I just don't know what I would do if Chris couldn't skate again." Jayne said.

"I don't mean to sound rude or for this to sound out of place but, you both are olympic champions, haven't you had worse falls than this?" Doctor Barnes asked.

"Yes, but neither of us have ever hit our heads hard enough to knock ourselves out." Jayne said looking at Chris through the window.

"Don't worry Ms Torvill, Chris should be back on the ice in no time. I will leave you to go and see him while I sort out his discharge papers and some pain relief for going home." Dr Barnes said while shaking Jayne hand.

"Thank you doctor." Jayne said while opening the door.

"Hey, you." Chris said without opening his eyes.

"How did you know it was me?" Jayne said kissing his cheek.

"I always know when my ice princess is near me!" Chris said giving Jayne a hug.

"You high on morphine?" Jayne said giggling.

"No, I'm telling the truth. The room always seems to go that little bit brighter when you walk in, the sun gets that little warmer and my life gets better when you're around." Chris said looking straight into Jaynes big blue watery eyes.

"What's brought all of this on?" Jayne asked wiping her eyes.

"Nothing, it's just sitting here with all the doctors working around you, your mind starts to work properly and I now realise that you are a major part in my life and I don't know what I would do without you." Chris said.

"Oh, Chris. You'll never have to worry about being without me! We will be together in some way for the rest of our lives. I promise you that." Jayne said giving Chris a hug.

"Good. Can we go home now?" Chris asked.

"I'll go and find the doctor." Jayne said heading for the door.

"I love you." Chris said under his breath after she left.

A few minutes later Jayne and Dr Barnes came into the room.

"How are you Chris?" The doctor asked.

"Fine. Want to go home though." Chris said with a laugh.

"Well, all you have to sign these forms and you're out of here" the doctor said handing Chris the forms and a pen.

"I just have one question. Is there anyone at home? It's just that you will need someone to help you for a few days while the bruising calms down." Dr Barnes asked.

"Yes, I stay with Chris while filming Dancing on Ice, so I will be there to be his slave." Jayne said with a smile and a wink.

"Mr Dean isn't a good patient then?" Dr Barns asked with a laugh.

"Definitely not! He likes to drag it on for as long as possible." Jayne said smiling.

"I am in the room you know!" Chris said joining in.

Chris gave the forms back to the doctor and he gave him his pail relief.

"Now, don't be taking these like sweets, they are addictive." The doctor said.

"It's fine, I try to suffer the pain. Medication is the very last resort for me!" Chris said slowly putting on his trainers.

"Please, don't suffer if you feel the need to take something please do!" The doctor said.

"Alright, thanks for everything. You have been great." Chris said shaking his hand.

"It's been a pleasure! I don't mean it's been a pleasure having you in pain. I mean it has been a pleasure treating you!" The doctor said in a frenzy.

"It's fine, we know what you meant." Chris said with a smile.

Jayne shook the doctors hand and Said goodbye to start the journey home.
