I continue to run towards the sound of the fighting, I stop halfway feeling a dark presents around me. A Beowolf jumps out of the bushes lunging at me and I move to the left dodging it. I get back on my feet and noticed three Beowolfs circling me. One of them lunges at me to attack, I duck under his claw and land a punch on his stomach sending him back into the forest. I turn back to the other two and they charge me. I duck under one of them and grab it by the tail and swing it at the other Beowolf sending that one back into the forest. I keep a tight grip on the last one spinning in circles and launch it through the air.

Thomas: Man, that was boring.

I continue to run towards where I heard the fighting earlier. After run though a few bushes I find Yang and Blake, along with a dead Ursa between the two.

Thomas: Hey guys.

Yang: Hey Thomas.

Thomas: What happen to him?

Yang: Oh, he just messed with the wrong sisters! Right Blake?

Blake: Yeah, sure.

We hear more roars and growling come from the forest and three more Ursa come out of the woods.

Thomas: Okay we each get one. I like these odds.

The three of us each charge at an Ursa. The one I'm against takes a swing at me and I dodge and land an upper cut on it. I follow it up with a kick knocking it on the ground. It gets back up and roars at me.

Thomas: It seems like the roar is the only thing you got going for ya.

It takes two more swings at me and I dodge them both and start throwing consecutive punches at the creatures gut. I finish the attack by swing my leg into its gut send the creature into a tree.

Thomas: Man, is this really supposed to be challenging?

I turn my back to the Ursa and walk towards Yang and Blake and see the two finishing off there Ursa. Yang using her gauntlet smashing its head into the ground, and Blake slashing her Ursa across the chest with her katana and it falls to the ground. They both turn to me smirking but Yang suddenly gets a worried expression on her face.

Yang: Look out!

I look at her in confusion and I suddenly feel claws dig into my back.

Thomas: Gahhh!

I fall to the ground with three deep claw marks on my back, blood oozing from them. The Ursa I thought I defeated got back up. Before it could take another swing at me Yang charges it launch continuous punches on the creature while also firing off rounds from her gauntlets. With her finally punch she sent the creature flying though the forest knock down multiple trees. Blake ran to my aid and helped me to my feet.

Yang: What was that!?

Thomas: What!?

Yang: If you're as strong as you lead on you should have kill that Ursa the first time!

Thomas: I guess I'm not as strong as I thought.

I close my eyes and concentrate my Aura to the wounds on my back and they heal in a matter of seconds.

Thomas: I'm sorry for worrying you guys. I'm alright now I promise.

Yang: Okay.

Blake: Come on, we've wasted enough time. We should get to the Ruins.

Thomas: Oh, I was already there. See.

I pull the pawn piece out of my pocket and show them.

Yang: Wait, if you were already at the Ruins, why didn't you go back to the cliffs?

Thomas: I don't have a partner yet. If I reported back without a partner I might fail.

Blake: He has a point.

Thomas: Come on I'll lead the way.

I get in front of the two and we start walking to the Ruins. We walk in silent for a while until Blake says something that catches my attention.

Blake: Why do you choose to fight without a weapon when you clearly can't?

Thomas: What?

Blake: If you had a weapon that Ursa wouldn't have gotten back up, and you wouldn't have gotten hurt.

Thomas: That's my choice. Plus I never fought a Grimm before so, how was I supposed to know?

Blake: What made you think you were that strong!?

Thomas: My semblance.

Yang: What?

Blake: What's your semblance?

Thomas: That's something I'd like to keep to myself if you wouldn't mine.

Yang and Blake go silent and we continue walking. We arrive, and Blake and Yang walk ahead of me into the Ruins.

Blake: It's like I thought, after you showed me yours Thomas, but I wasn't sure if all the relics would be chess pieces.

Yang: Some of them are missing. Look like some of the other student got here after you Thomas.

Thomas: It only makes sense.

Blake: Well... I guess we should pick one.

Yang and Blake walk around the chess pieces and Yang stops in front of the Knight Piece.

Yang: Hmm...

Yang take the Knight Piece from the pedestal.

Yang: How about a cute little pony?

Blake: Sure.

Yang: That wasn't too hard.

Blake: Well, we did have someone lead us here.

Thomas: You're welcome, by the way.

I suddenly felt a dark presence from the forest behind Yang. A King Taijitu came shooting out of the forest going right for Yang. I pushed her out of the way and grab the creature by it's fangs. Yang fell to the ground and turn to see me holding back the King Taijitu.

Yang: Thomas! What are you doing!? Get out of there!

Thomas: Don't worry, I'm totally on top of this.

I started to struggle, getting pushed back, my feet dug into the ground. So much for staying within my limit. I let go of one of the fangs and a red aura formed around my fist. I threw my arm forward into the creature and crushed its skull killing it. The red aura faded from my hand and I clenched it. I must of used too much power. I turn back to Yang and Blake with shocked looks on their faces.

Blake: What was that?

Yang: Yeah, why were you hiding such power?

Before I could explain a high pitch scream came from somewhere in the woods.

Yang: Some girl's in trouble! Did you guys hear that? What should we do?

Ruby: Heads up!

We all look up and see Ruby falling out of the sky.
