Cold rain poured down on to the hard glistening asphalt. Busy humans bustled about, each concerned with their daily battles. Some with sly faces planning wars, bored out of their minds.
This city was the home of all sorts of people, each within their own messed up versions of reality, trying to break out of their routine lives.
Right in the heart of the city, among the old glowing signs and advertisements, stood a freshly installed signboard and it read "What are you looking for?". Most of the 'humans' ignored this seemingliy out of place question but there were some 'devils' who whistled their answers into the dark night.Click clack a pair of heels went, "Hope" her mind resounded as her thin yet attractive eyes fell onto the plaque.
"Love", his heart echoed resonating for a few seconds as he disappeared back into the bustling crowd.
"Destiny" screamed a bored individual, deep into the night as he was ignored by the passerbys, his words falling onto deaf ears and reflecting across the walls.
Many others walked by their faces painted with a palette of emotions.
Some red with anger, others green with envy.
Some with sly smiles, others with despairing eyes. These people were what you'd call the odd bunch, crayons thrown out of their respective boxes for being far too intelligent, emotional, bored, broken? Take your pick
Little did these 'devils' know that all of their odd uninteresting lives would soon intertwine as they danced as pawns in the hands of whatever cunning god played with this city of aspirations, where many aspiring individuals came to lose themselves to the hard glistening asphalt and the gigantic reflecting walls.
As their fates intertwined each would soon find what they were looking for, some quite more than what they asked for
Whether its good or bad for their puny lives is what they need to choose.Cause after all even pawns have choices to make.
