"They say the ones who are Quirkless aren't worth it. My opinion? They're the best people to keep them around."- Kaito Sato, Age 10
All men are not created equally. Not only a sentence that was true but one Kaito lived by. He was the one that was not the most lucky in the quirk pool. He was surely better off than those who were Quirkless but he often still felt like one. He was born with rotting skin and he was deathly pale. The doctors thought he was dead by his temperature. A few moments passed by until he started crying out and everyone let out a sigh of relief. His parents died by villains after two years of him being on the world. He was given to the foster system and often was moved around.
His mind was pulled out of the gutter by being tapped on the shoulder. He looked up to see one of his classmates had brought him out of his daydream in the empty classroom. The sky had started turning orange, meaning class must've ended earlier and no one bothered him after they noticed him staring. He noted that people around him were cleaning, meaning that the poor girl who stood before him was one of that was probably voted by their fellow classmates."Ah, sorry. I'll get out of your way." He says, standing. A itch started on his jawline but he ignored it in favor of picking up his bag. He stood fully, putting the bag he carried for school.
"I-It's okay, Sato-kun!" The girl squeaked, looking away. Her face was noticeable red and Kaito assumed she was nervous. He grunted in response and heads to the door, feeling her gaze on his back as he ambled to the exit. He opened and closed the door when he needed, sighing as he limped to the door of the school. Maybe he could stop at the coffee shop on the way home and talk to the cute guy that served him usually? His thoughts were interrupted as kids ran past him in excitement.
He stopped, staring after them. What was going on? He decided to quicken his pace to race after his peers. People were crowding near a building that was only a block away from his middle school. Chatter was heard as people tried to get past the line of police. Kaito slipped in and through, the smell of his rotting skin making the crowd part easily. He gazed past the police, eyes narrowing. There was a huge indent in the wall, cracks spidering out from the middle of it. By it, in messy writing in paint, was the words 'There's a new Prince in town.' He turned around hurriedly and walked away from the crowd as more heroes arrived. His mind silently wondered who put that as he walked home.
