My heart and chest quickly start to settle knowing that she's ok. "Have you been outside today?" I ask her hoping that I get the answer I'm wanting. When she tells me that she hadn't i sighed with relief. "Don't move, I'm on my way over" I tell her as I start looking for actual clothes. I hang up the phone and throw on some jeans and a t-shirt.
Before I can get my boots on, my phone starts ringing. I look and see that it's just Brad, "Hello, what's up?" He starts telling me what I already know about what is going on outside. "I know dude, I'm getting ready, loading up, and heading to get Liz, then we will head over to you. I finish getting on my boots, grab my leather jacket and my AR, and head to the door.
I slowly open my door, keeping the barrel of my AR pointed straight ahead, and check to make sure there is nothing near. When I am sure that the cost is clear, I make my way to my car. Looking ahead of me, I see that even in the horror of these streets, my 67 Impala still looks beautiful. I walk to the back and take a quick look around before opening the trunk.
I carefully places the gun inside the trunk, and grabbed a 1911 checking to make sure it had a full clip. I shut the trunk as I carefully place the gun in an inside pocket of my leather. I get in the drivers seat and start up the car, and listen to the roar of the engine. This attracts the attention of the....things....close to me. I throw it in drive and speed the whole way to Liz's house.
