Frequency is the number of waves per second.
Time period is the time for 1 wave to complete.
Wavelength is from the middle of one compression point to the middle of the next consecutive compression point.
Lambda is the name for the wavelength symbol.There are 2 types of waves:
Transverse and LongitudinalTransverse waves
The particles move perpendicular to the wave (up and down). Examples are water waves and s seismic waves.
Longitudinal waves
Vibrations are parallel to the direction of energy transfer (forwards and backwards). Examples are sound waves and p seismic waves.
