“Another victim, down the street of Hanbury near an apartment building” he said,
almost in a tiring way like it had been said from him a thousand times.
“Son of a- two victims in a night, is he havin’ a party?” she was trying her best not to breakdown. This is what she feared the most, having to have more innocent victims murdered in a constant manner.
“He escalated this time, throat slit, some of her parts were disemboweled and her womb was taken out too” he replied.
“Do the officers by any chance know where he even went after this one?” she asked.
“They’re still tracking him down, it is as if the two victims were murdered at the same time since the span of time after he killed Mary Ann was undoubtedly short” he explained.
“Oh God, was he this good at murders? How on earth did he remove the womb?” she said furiously.
“He must have had anatomical knowledge, it isn’t easy to take out someone’s insides” he answered. The eerie darkness of the night sky, and the twisted, warped shapes that stars made against the blackness guarded them as they inspected the whole scene and were finding legit clues within the murder. Sera inspected the body and was surprised that it was a clean way of doing such odd murder. She was thinking, the suspect may be a doctor or someone whose anatomical knowledge is far from a normal person.
The sun was about to pour out its’ brilliant hot red and oranges onto the horizon when Seraphina finished her work, but only for that day.
“I’ll take a quick rest, we shall meet soon when I return Martino” she said.
“I’ll look forward to that, for now we have to conduct more inspection about this gruesome murder, we hope to find the killer as soon as possible” he replied. She hoped for peace that time but she knew it would be hard. She got home on her apartment, it was as if the place hasn’t been lived on for years. It was depressingly silent, dark and empty, but she didn’t care. All she wanted to do was lie down and sleep, a good, peaceful sleep.
After a day or two, she was surprised she hadn’t heard anything about the same murder. She went to see Martino and was dying to know what had happened to the past murders. They met in a coffee shop she always loved, the smell of the coffee always makes her day better.
“Do you want anything?” Seraphina insisted.
“Plain coffee would do, thank you” he said.Sera bought what they need and came back. As she was seated, she went straight to the point and ask him what the updates are.
“So, did you find the suspect?” she asked.
“Unfortunately, we’re still working on it. He wasn’t an easy one, he knows every corner, every route of these streets, he knows where to hide and when to appear”
“That freak man, good thing he hasn’t killed anyone lately?”
“Surprisingly, I agree. There were some witnesses who mentioned that they saw him. They said he’s a tall man, 6 foot tall or so, wears a long, black hat and a thick, dark coat that covers his whole body.”
“If that is true, he is suspiciously sane and harmless looking”
“Yes, I do think so too. We-“ Martino was cut by his ringing phone. “Do you mind if I?”
“No, not at all. Go ahead” she said.Seraphina glanced over the glass windows and started thinking. She desperately wanted to know what this man really is all about. Was he paid? Was he doing these just for fun? What are his intentions? She massaged her temples and took a sip from her coffee.
Martino came back and his aura was different from before, she knew he had something, something that would at least answer her questions in mind.
“He sent his first clue” he said.
“Clue?”
“He sent a letter to the Central News Agency”
“Let’s go”They drove to the place and parked near a studio building. They sprinted through the building and hoped to get something. Seraphina was dying to know what’s in that letter, what he wanted to tell. They entered an authorize room filled with small cubicles for important employees and went to see the manager.
“Chief Martino, glad you’re here. We got something deadly important.” Mr. Wesley said, the manager. He let them sat in his cozy lathered chair. As Seraphina was sitting he looked at her and said,
“Dr. Seraphina, I’m very pleased to meet you.”
“It is a pleasure to meet you too Mr. Wesley.” She said, and shook their hands.
“This was sent this morning” he placed the letter onto the table. “We insisted that this ones’ a hoax though we aren’t sure yet. It’s best if we keep an eye out even more because of this letter.”Martino took the wrinkled letter envelop, and it was a different type of paper, something thick and weird. The cover said “Dear Boss, Central News Agency, London City”. He glanced at Sera as if signaling if she was ready to know what’s inside the letter. When he took out the letter, she desperately focused on it and read it. The letter had this.
“Dear Boss,
I keep on hearing the police have caught me but they wont fix me just yet. I have laughed when they look so clever and talk about being on the right track. I am down on whores and I shant quit ripping them till I do get buckled. Grand work the last job was. I gave the lady no time to squeal. How can they catch me now. I love my work and want to start again. You will soon hear of me with my funny little games. I saved some of the proper red stuff in a ginger beer bottle over the last job to write with but it went thick like glue and I cant use it. Red ink is fit enough I hope ha. ha. The next job I do I shall clip the ladys ears off and send to the police officers just for jolly wouldn't you. Keep this letter back till I do a bit more work, then give it out straight. My knife's so nice and sharp I want to get to work right away if I get a chance. Good Luck.
Yours truly Jack the Ripper
Dont mind me giving the trade name
PS Wasnt good enough to post this before I got all the red ink off my hands curse it No luck yet. They say I'm a doctor now. ha ha”“Jack the Ripper?” Seraphina asked with confusion.
“Looks like he’s toying with us” Martino said. After an hour or two of some serious conversation about the letter, they left. They continued working on his last two jobs, the last murders he had. Sera is back and ready to solve this murder.
However, Jack the Ripper came back as well. He, once again ceased the life of a woman named Elizabeth Stride, although this time he only went by the throat. Seraphina and Martino thought it was odd since he always had something to do with the internals. But just as they were scanning the scene, after an hour, a police stumbled upon the body of Catherine Eddowes, just across the street where Stride was murder.
This victim was far even worse, as Sera inspected the body, it was severely mutilated as well as her face. Her uterus and left kidney were removed.“I’m getting sick of this” she said.
“He continues to toy with us, though the first victim this night was a quick fix, it’s odd” Martino replied.
“I agree, Jesus Christ this has been going on for weeks” she exclaimed.
“He plays his own games well” he said trying to be calm.Dull days had passed, they felt sick trying to find out who the Ripper was. They claimed to have a lot of suspects but none of them were holding enough evidence for the murder. Martino and Seraphina continued to work on this crime day after day. Until days turned to weeks and weeks turned months, months turned to years.
The case was never solved until this time around, Dr. Seraphina retired from her work despite the murder she hadn’t solved, she had been known to work on a lot of cases she was very good at. Albeit Jack the Ripper had never been known nor found.
Seraphina will never forget the gruesome and grisly murder of Jack the Ripper. Unfortunately, the case remains unsolved.
Message from the author:
This is a true story, I was just inspired to make it more entertaining and involve some characters I made. However, this is inspired by true events, true murders, true victims and true killer. It has been true that the case of Jack the Ripper was never solved up to this day. The letter was really the original one he had done many years ago. (creepy huh?) I’ll give the reference links I used for the information I wrote. And I apologize if ending sucks and if there are lots of grammatical errors. Though, thanks for reading. 😊References:
