Okay so basically this fic starts a few hours after infinity war (except Thanos was defeated and no one died)

Tony surveyed the rubble of the city, wincing at all of the destruction. The battle against Thanos and his forces was one of the hardest fights of his life, but Cap and him were able to win together, using the intense power of the original avengers to overpower the purple creature. Speaking of which, where was Steve?

"I can't do this."

Steve leaned back up behind a wall, Bucky beside him. "What if he says no? What if he still doesn't forgive me? What if-"

"Hey, calm down." Bucky said, placing a metal hand on his shoulder. "If Tony didn't forgive you, you wouldn't have fought together, right?" "Well, he just wanted to-"

"He loves you, Steve."

"What?"

"I talked to him. He says he wants to be with you forever."

"You talked to him? I thought you two hated each other-"

"Nah, he's a cool guy. A little hot headed, but he's alright. He's also madly in love with you."

"Buck, Tony and I broke it off two years ago-"

"He is still so in love with you, he wants no one but you."

"So you think I should do it?"

"Absolutely." Bucky said, pulling Steve into a hug. "You got this, buddy."

"Bucks? Babe?" Steve heard Sam calling, looking for his boyfriend.

"Shit, I gotta go. Good luck." Bucky said, before running off to Sam.

"Bye!" Steve yelled to his friend, before taking a deep breath and walking towards Tony.

Tony saw Steve walking towards him, looking anxious and nervous.

"Hey... what's up?" Tony asked, smiling sadly at his ex. "Can I talk to you? In private?" "Sure. Lead the way."

"Okay, so what's on your mind?" Tony asked, cocking his head to one side in curiosity. "Well, um.." okay, deep breaths Steve. You can do this.

"I really don't know how to say this, I was never good with words... but the two years we.. y'know.." Steve shuffled his feet on the floor, clearly nervous. "Those two years gave me a reason, a purpose to keep fighting. I did it for you, because I loved you. No. I still love you. I want to get married, adopt children, live on a farm with 3 dogs and not have to worry anymore. Goddamnit, I'm recklessly in love with you, everything about you is perfect. I'm sorry I'm not the person you want, not by a long shot, but I'm me. And if you don't feel the same, I understa-mph!" Tony cut him off by pulling him into a long kiss. They stumbled over rubble until Tony had backed him into a wall, still kissing him, refusing to let this moment go.

Eventually, their lips separated, as they stared at each other.

"I-I I love you so much, please don't ever leave me-" Tony pulled him into a hug, while sliding a cold object onto his finger. Steve looked at his hand.

A ring.

Tony looked at him, smiling, as if asking him the question with his eyes. Steve nodded, pulling out the ring he was planning on giving Tony. He slid it onto his finger, looking at his hazel eyes. When he finished, the pair kissed once more, lost in their own world.
