K POV
...
I woke up panting from my awful reoccurring nightmare of that awful night.. I started crying and throwing my pillows around my room.. My father took away who I was.. He changed my name to Kayden Hathoway and dyed my hair black, I don't remember my actual name but I remember that my hair isn't supposed to be black.. it's supposed to be red, it was and is red, naturally. I still dye it black though, I kind of like it honestly..
I looked around my room and quickly cleaned it up. After that was finished I remembered that I still needed to clean out the attic.
I ran down stairs and made Skyler some food then went into the basement. I saw her sleeping, she looked so peaceful when I saw her, I couldn't help but smile. I shook myself out of my little daze. 'She's your victim K.. Not your guest.. She wouldn't stay if you let her go..' I sighed to myself. I kicked her bed and she jumped awake.
"Good morning sleeping beauty," I said to her as she scratched her head, messing up her bedhead.
"Morning beast," she sneered at me. I laughed, catching her off guard.
"Just eat your breakfast, I'm going to clean the attic today so I won't be seeing much of you today," I said calmly as I gave her the bowl of cereal I got for her, sitting on the end of her bed. "Unless you wanna help me clean of course," I laughed.
"I would love to," she said quietly, in between bites of cereal, catching me really off guard.
"Wait, what?" I asked, shocked.
"I said I would love to, weren't you listening?" she said back a bit snarky. I smiled and laughed.
"You won't be able to escape you know, the doors are locked inside and out by a key that only I have, and there are no weapons you can use against me. Plus, I'm way stronger than you girly." I said matter-of-factly, looking her in the eye. "Still wanna help?"
She looked up at me and swallowed the bite of cereal that she had in her mouth. "Yup," she said quickly, putting another spoonful in her mouth.
"Well.. Alright then."
~A few hours later in the attic~
"Where do you want me to put this box, K?" she called over to me.
"I don't know..over there?" I pointed to the corner. She dropped it kind of hard, making papers fall out. "Hey, be careful!!" I shouted at her. She flinched as I started walking toward her. She was quickly on her knees, trying to pick up all the papers she dropped. I got down too, helping her. She froze and picked up a square little picture.
"What? Why did you stop?" I asked her, leaning over to see what she had. I heard her sobbing a little.
"Kayden?.." She asked me softly.
"What?" I groaned at her, slightly annoyed.
"Do you know this family?.." she whispered. I took the picture from her and looked at it. It was me and my sister.. in front of our parents.
"It's my family, so what?" I answered, annoyed. I saw her getting a wallet out of the shorts she had under her costume. She opened it and flipped through it, taking out a folded piece of paper.
"When I was five, my dad went bonkers.. He tried to kill me and my mom and took my twin brother.. We didn't know why.. My mom and I had to change our names and move.." She unfolded the piece of paper and gave it to me. I looked at it. It was a picture, of our family. I was circled with a heart made out of sharpie. I turned it over and looked at the back, it had a little note on it. 'Never forget the day Rose, never forget.. Find Kenyon and never let him leave your family again.. Make dad regret what he did..'
My eyes slowly filled with tears as I looked over at my long lost sister.
"Rose?.. Sis?.." I whispered, almost inaudibly. "I thought you and mom died.." She hugged me and cried onto my shoulder.
"Kayden.. I thought I would never see you again.." We hugged and cried for hours.
Our family is going to be together again..
