How much wood would a woodchuck chuck if a woodchuck could chuck wood?
700 pounds = 317.5 kilograms
seven hundred pounds or three hundred seventeen and a half kilos
it's a story short so goes thus,
my largest in green tomatoes had it in a grasp
a single one did it eat
sat I and observed above my sink,
through the screen,
and the window closed
observed did I without anger or scorn
for life in hunger we both do relate
in wonder did I ponder the fate
of tomato and groundhog
september the date
eating and dropping but one meager chunk
thereby devouring the entire hunk
that was my wonder and thoughtful in waste
had
just bitten all of them I'd of thought of a chase
but no, quite conservative
and eating it all
as much as I noticed
the piece in the fall
so lies our conquest october to march
the sleep doth befall us
in thinking just thus
a deep hibernation
thirty-eight to five
eighty-eight to thirty-seven
and
loss of only a quarter
heartbeats, body temp, and weight
six years the span in average chuck life
most time solitudinal
but time for a wife
