End flashback
Unfortunately, Mrs. Malfoy was able to return Draco's hair back to normal. She said it was a simple spell she learned in school, so there should be no reason as to why Mr. Ollivander couldn't perform it. I was starting to think he had lied to keep Draco's hair pink, and Draco was starting to believe it too.
Fortunately, Mrs. Malfoy had trouble suppresing a smile when she approached Draco and I. SCORE 2 FOR HP!
I had just finished packing everything I wouldn't be using tonight and tomorrow morning when Mrs. Malfoy had appeared at my door. She knocked, and I let her enter.
"Hayley, dear," I pulled a face and the corners of her mouth twitched, "have you packed everything?"
"Yes," I replied.
"Good." She stopped. "Oh, Hayley, Professor Dumbledore just sent word that he would like to have a word with you. Said it was very important and couldn't wait until tomorrow, but you'll be back by dinner. We'll be traveling by floo as soon as you finish packing up the last of everything you won't be needing tonight and tomorrow. As you know, we can't apparate into Hogwarts."
Apparently my confusion at the word 'floo' was obvious, because Mrs. Malfoy then said,
"You've never traveled by floo before?" I shook my head and she smiled. "Oh well, you'll see."
I was still confused, but nonetheless I said, "Of course, Mrs. Malfoy. I've just finished. I'd be happy to go now, if that's alright with you...?"
"Wonderful! Follow me please." She smiled and turned on her heel, beckoning me to follow.
I closed and locked my trunk and she led me to her and Mr. Malfoy's room a floor above us and stopped in front of the fireplace near the foot of their bed. She grabbed a fistful of what she called 'floo powder' and threw it into the flames, which promptly turned green...sort of like my eyes. Or a sick person's face, whichever you prefer.
She held out her arm for me and I took it, not knowing what we were going to do. Then Mrs. Malfoy walked straight into the flames, leading me along with her. I gasped, expecting pain, but it didn't hurt in the slightest. In fact, it tickled a little bit. I giggled slightly.
Mrs. Malfoy smiled at my behaviour, then said clearly, but not too loudly, "Professor Albus Dumbledore's office, Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry."
Suddenly I felt as if I was whirling around and around. Suddenly the spinning stopped, and I fell out of another fireplace. Well, I would've face planted, if Mrs. Malfoy hadn't of caught me as she stepped gracefully out of the fireplace. I felt blood rush to my face by the gallon, since I had nearly pulled her down to the floor along with me. How embarrasing that would be for her! She looked down at me, smiling slightly, and was about to speak when another, familiar, voice spoke instead.
"Ah, Narcissa, Ms. Cortel. Wonderful of you both to join join me. And, Hayley, dear, don't worry. Many people nearly fall face first during their first couple of attempts at traveling by floo," Professor Dumbledore spoke. I blushed more deeply as he knew I would've face planted.
Mrs. Malfoy barely contained a small laugh. "Terribly sorry to be a killjoy, Professor, but I really must be going. Draco is by himself in the house, and I do have to do a cleaning round in the house before dinner. I also assumed you wanted to speak with Hayley privately," she said.
"You have assumed correctly, Narcissa." Dumbledore gave her a twinkling smile. She nodded curtly, said, "Please have Hayley arrive in the dining room, Professor," and left once more by floo.
