A/N: hi guys!! It's been too long... and I'm sorry about that. I was experiencing a writing block and I didn't know what to write, but I'm finally back. Also I have a job now and it's literally sucking the life out of me !! Hopefully you can enjoy the story now, thank you all for being so patient and loyal. It's Monday. I usually hate Monday's, but the checks I was going to cash in after school lightened my mood. All this stress, time, and energy I had been shoveling into my job was finally over. I could actually walk Mari home again and not see Chloé any more than I have to.

Until tomorrow, anyways. I really didn't want to show up to her stupid party, but she paid me and kept her word. I didn't know if I should tell Mari or not, I wasn't even sure how to begin.

I threw on whatever I found on the floor of my room. All of February had been hectic and my life was just uncontrollably being thrown around from place to place.

It felt so good to not worry about work and to be able to relax. I stepped outside and instantly felt the wind bite through me. Maybe picking up clothes without thinking of the weather was a bad idea. The snow fell harshly from the gray sky, soaking my hair.

By the time I reached Mari's house, my hands were frozen. I was so cold! Mari came out and she looked shocked.

"Nath!! What happened to you?" She grabbed my hand and dragged me inside the bakery. She worriedly looked up at me. "Why aren't you wearing a jacket? A hoodie is not enough protection when it's snowing!" She scolded.

"... it is to me...?" I didn't want to tell her that my life was kinda falling apart and I couldn't bother with putting on the proper clothes.

She paused for a moment. "Give me a moment." She left me standing at the door and went upstairs to her room. Moments later, she came back with a black beanie and a matching set of gloves. "Here, put these on. I don't have a jacket for you, but hopefully this will help a little..." she handed them to me.

She went to get me something to help me stay warm, even if it's just a hat and gloves, even if she just gave me a hug, I'd feel so much better. I hugged her tightly. "Thank you, Flower. You're the sweetest."

Mari blushes to her ears. "N-no problem. Let me get you some hot cocoa too, since you're shivering."

I slipped on the beanie and gloves. They felt warm and soft. Are these wool? My hands feel like they're wrapped in a blanket.

Mari came back and handed me a steaming cup of hot cocoa with a big fat marshmallow floating in the middle.

We walked to school together through the heavy snowfall. I felt pretty warm with the hot cocoa and Mari holding my hand the whole way.

We finally made it to school, and Alya gasped when she saw us.

"Don't tell me you two walked in this snow storm????? Why didn't you ask me for a ride?? My mom totally would've came to pick you two up!"

Mari looked flustered. "Well, I didn't think of that.. haha.."

"I don't have your number Alya." I said in defense.

"You guys are ridiculous. Give me your cell Nathaniel so I can add my number to it." Alya held out her hand for me. I gave her my cell phone. Suddenly it buzzed in her hands. "A text from... She-Devil? Who's that?!"

Panic. I snatched my phone back. "I-I think it's a prank text... I keep getting them from this person. Don't worry though, they're just being stupid they're not an actual threat." I nervously shoved my phone in my pocket.

Mari squeezed my hand before letting go. "If you say so. Go sit before you get yelled at again."

I have her a quick kiss on the cheek. Her face felt cold from the snow. "Okay Mari. Talk to you at lunch then." She blushed and nodded her head. I walked to my desk and plopped down.

I hesitantly reached for my phone and opened the message.

She-Devil: can't wait 2 c u 2night!!! ❤️

I choked on air when I read that. I didn't even think it was possible to choke on air.

What the shit what the shit what the shit????? What does that even mean?? I locked my phone and zipped it in my bag. I didn't want to think about that text or her.

She was not having it. I watched Chloé smirk at me and then look down at her phone under her desk. My phone quietly buzzed with every text she sent me. I started sweating a bit, she was making me anxious. I felt like throwing up, I'm so disgusted by her. I shouldn't have bothered helping her out the other day.

When school ended I bolted out of my desk. I grabbed Mari's face and gave her a kiss on the lips. "I'm so sorry but I can't walk home with you today, make sure Alya takes you home okay? It's too cold for you to walk right now, it hasn't stopped snowing."

Mari looked up at me. "O-okay.. but where are you going? I thought you didn't have work anymore?" She sounded a bit upset.

"I'm just going to run a quick errand before I go home. I'll be okay." I pulled her in for a hug and kissed the top of her head. "Promise me Alya is giving you a ride home."

Mari hugged me tightly. "I promise."

"Thank you Mari." I ran my hand through her hair. "You know I love you more than anyone."

Mari's face burned red. "I-I know. I love you m-more."

I started blushing profusely. She's too cute, I can't handle it!!!

I rushed out the door and headed for the bank. Snowflakes pricked my face, but I kept running.

I stood in line at the bank with my checks. My legs were shaking and my lungs felt numb. After cashing them in, my wallet was nice and fat. Words could not describe how happy I was to finally be able to buy Mari her gift.

I secured my wallet in my bag and began walking home. Thankfully it had stopped snowing by then. I was one step closer to the perfect Valentine's Day with my cute girlfriend Marinette.
