Jeff's POV-
I stepped off my motorcycle I got a cigarette out of my pocket and went into the bar. I had to get a knew job since I got fired for grabbing Elizabeth.
"Hey." I said sitting down looking at the man serving the drinks.
He looked at me he didn't say anything. "Can I speak to the manager?" I asked looking at the man.
He nodded his head I guess he was the boss. "Is it you?" I asked. The man nodded his head agreeing.
"Can I get a job?" I asked taking out a puff to my right.
The man took out a paper and started to write."Aren't you a little to young to be working at a bar?" He wrote.
"Today's my Birthday I just turned 18." I said looking at the man.
"Okay you can, but no freebies, or anything like that. Also don't you go to school?" He wrote down but looked at me giving me a questioning look.
"I got expelled, why do I need a diploma?" I asked giving the man a bored look taking another puff of smoke out.
"No, you'll do alright." The man wrote down and gave me a smile.
"What's your name?" I asked.
"Nathan." The man wrote down.
"Well nice to meet you Nathan I'm Jeffrey." I said reaching out to shake his hand. He smiled.
I got up and turned around before leaving. "What day will I be workin?" I asked looking at Nathan.
He pointed to the wall behind him it had a weeks day. Monday-Sunday. He used his fingers to tell me the time. From 4 to 2. I figured it was at night since there wasn't anybody inside the bar. And he seemed to be cleaning.
"Alright thank you I'll see you tomorrow." I said stepping out.
I got on my motorcycle. I turned it on I heard the engine reeve. I wanted to know why Eli was so afraid of me and why she mentioned my father.
I went back to were she lived. I parked my bike and sat on it. I waited. It was 10:07 when her front door opened. I saw her being thrown out of the house by a man.
She fell to the floor and was crying. "Next time you try taking my money I'll kill ya!" The man yelled at her.
I got up and went to her I picked her up. "That your new boyfriend?" The man yelled at her she flinched in my arm. I took her to the bike and sat her down.
"Hey boy were do you think your going with my daughter?!" The man yelled in my face spitting, his breath smelled of beer.
"Look you drunk bastered, I'm taking her with me, your going back into your house and you won't call the cops, or I will come back and break every bone in your body! Did I make myself clear?!" I said through gritted teeth.
"Give me back my daughter!" The man yelled as he tried to reach for Eli.
I grabbed his arm and twisted it. He yelled out in pain. I wasn't going to break it but he deserved to be punished for hurting her.
"Fuck off!" I yelled at him.
He went inside and came back out with a shot gun. I started the engine and sped my way out of there. To my surprise Eli wrapped her arms around me.
I came to a stop at a dinner.
"You want something to eat?" I asked Eli with a smile."No thank you." She replied still looking down.
She looked broken. I noticed the scars on her arms. She looked up. "I- it's y- you?" She asked frightened.
I reached for her hand so she wouldn't run away like last time. "Wait, I won't hurt you." I said giving her a small smile.
"B- but your J- Jeffrey Ma- Magnon." She stuttered still looking at me with fear filled eyes.
"Okay I know my damn name. Why are you so afraid of me?" I asked looking at her.
"P-please let me go." She stuttered out.
"Fine, but tell me why your so afraid of me. Please?" I asked. I was desperate to know by know.
"I d-don't think th- this is a good p-place to speak o-of the s-subject." She breathed out a few tears falling down her cheek.
I wiped the tears away with the pad of my thumb. "It's okay I won't judge you." I said. "Get something to eat and we'll go somewhere more quite. Okay?" I said and asked looking into her eyes.
She nodded her head in agreement.

"Where are we goin?" Eli asked quietly.
"To my home, no not with my dad to my place." Jeff stated with a small smile.
"Okay, by the way thank you for the food, and Savin my ass from ma old man." Eli said quietly fidgeting with her sleeves.
"Nah don't mention it." Jeff said Chuckling at the end.
"Come on." Jeff said sitting on the bike reeving the motorcycle. Eli sat behind him and timidly wrapped her arms around Jeff.
"Ready?" Jeff asked looking over his shoulder. "Y-yes." Eli responded into his back.
Jeff went to the tree house near the forest. "Watch ya step." He said as he helped guide Eli. "Thank you." Eli said with a small smile.
They sat in the tree house. "You want somethin' to drink? All I got is booze, so not much of an option." Jeff said smiling.
"No I- I'm okay thank you." Eli replied sitting crisscross Apple sauce.
"So why ya so scared of me and the old baster?" Jeff asked genuinely curious.
"Y- you well y- your the bad boy and I really jus don't t- talk much to people anyway." She replied nervously.
"Bad boy?" Jeff asked laughing at the sound of that.
Eli was mesmerized by his laugh so far he'd been really nice to her he was a gentlemen. 'He's probably like that with all girls' she thought to herself.
"W-why are ya s-so interested a- anyway?" She asked biting the inside of her cheek.
Jeff couldn't really think of why he was so interested, he just couldn't help but be drawn to her a little. "Cause you ran off like you'd seen a ghost." He ended up saying dismissing the thought.
"O-oh y-yeah." Eli said with a small smile of embarrassment.
"So why are you so scared?" Jeffrey felt as though he sounded like a broken record player repeating the same thing over and over again.
"W- well you s- see... my old man h- he..." she stopped there tears streaming down her face.
Jeffrey didn't know what to do. So he sat next to her picked her up and sat her in his lap, he held her to his chest. "Hey it's okay, you don't have to tell me if you don't want to. Just please don't cry." He said not wanting her to cry anymore.
"He... hurt me... and touched me... he made me do it!" She yelled sobbing into Jeffrey's chest. Her body trembled and kept crying her eyes out.
Jeffrey was shocked, he didn't think his father capable of touching a young girl.
"It's okay, I got you... I won't let anybody hurt you, I'll protect you." Jeffrey said not thinking about anything then just to protect her. He felt the need to as though his life depended on it.
And hour had passed and she wasn't crying anymore. He just held her there. He didn't dare move he couldn't he wanted to stay like that for as long as possible. He couldn't figure out what it was about her but he just wanted to be with her.
"I'll protect you my little Eli." Jeffrey whispered into her hair lips slightly grazing her hair. He took in her sent. He liked the way she smelled of vanilla and roses.
