Chapter 12

       Jayden went back to the castle and there, he faced hundreds of vampire enemy. Ilang araw na din silang walang pahinga...and all he needed is Cassandra. He needed someone to be his reason to keep on fighting..

Makalipas ang isang oras na wala ng sumunod na atake...he let himself cool down. He's on his way to his room to rest and change when he passed Cassandra's room.

Unti-unti nyang binuksan ang pinto nito and her scent welcomed him. He slowly entered her room...and there...still in it's place..her pillow..her bed...ruffled as if she just got up. Umupo sya sa kama nito at hinawakan ang unan nito. He closed his eyes.. remembering how he fell in love with her...how he finally named his unknown feeling for her..

Five years ago...

Nagawa na nilang makaalis ng Pilipinas...

Naging ganap na ang paglantad ng mga bampira..

And from there, kinailangan nilang itago si Cassandra...

Hangga't hindi pa ito handa...

Hangga't sariwa pa ang lahat ng sugat nito sa loob at labas.

It's been the hardest time for her...

She almost gave up...

Halos sunugin nya araw-araw ang sarili sa abandonadong simbahan...

And the only person that kept her alive through those moments is the child she's carrying in her womb..

One night, he's busy signing some papers para sa pag-aayos ng mga batas ng mga bampira when Cassandra walked inside his office. She's wearing her nightgown that really suited her with that little bump on her tummy.

"You should rest, regina," he quietly said.

"I want cake."

"Cake? Gabi na ah?" takang tanong nya dito.

"I still want to eat cake.. Chocolate cake."

Jayden smiled and glanced down her stomach, "Is that what that lil' vampir like?"

Cassandra nodded.

"Ok. Bumalik ka na sa kwarto mo. Padadalhan na lang kita."

"Hm.. Hindi ka pa ba napapagod dyan?" tanong nito,, he noticed a hint of irritation from her voice.

"I have to finish this for your coronation."

"Hm.. sige. Goodnight, Jayden."

"Goodnight, regina."

Lumabas ng opisina si Cassandra at ibinalik na ni Jayden ang atensyon sa ginagawa. Pero hindi na nya maibalik ang isip sa ginagawa. He kept on seeing Cassandra's worried face bago ito lumabas. Parang may gusto pa itong sabihin sa kanya. He rose from his seat and walked out of his room. Nakasalubong nya ang batang si Lucille na may dala-dalang cake.

"Good evening, Lord Jayden. Para po ito kay Ate Cassandra."

"Nasabihan ka na nyang ikuha sya ng cake?"

"Opo. Sabi pa nga nya, dalhin ko sa office mo para sabay kayong kakain eh."

"Ah.. Sige.. Ako na ang magdadala nito sa kanya."

He knocked twice, trice and four times but Cassandra's not answering. Kinabahan na sya. He decided to open the door. At nabitawan nya ang plato ng makita itong nakahandusay sa sahig..hawak ang isang pilak na patalim. Her chest bloody. He rushed towards her carrying her limp body. He laid her on her bed and waited until her wound heals.
