"Kim Taehyung" The speaker sounded in the waiting room of the Doctor's practice.
Taehyung didn't move.
The speaker repeated itself twice more before his doctor bundled down the stairs.
Instantly recognising Taehyung he tapped him on the shoulder.
"Taehyung?" He said.
"Who?" Taehyung replied.
The doctor realised that Taehyung must be having some memory issues so he asked him upstairs.
"What's wrong then buddy?" He asked.
"I don't know." He replied
"What do you mean?"
"I can't remember."
Taking note of the pyjamas, messy hair and lack of shoes the doctor called Taehyung's mum.
When she arrived she looked at Taehyung in confusion before being pulled aside.
"Mrs Kim, I'm afraid your son has young-onset dementia."
"Ask him his birthday."
"I have. Is there anything he would never forget. Something that means a lot to him?"
"Show him this picture. Ask him who it is." Taehyung's mum hands the doctor her phone with a picture of Jungkook on it.
She enters the room, her own son not knowing who she is, asking her to leave.
She shows him the picture of Jungkook, begging him to tell her who he is.
"Sorry ma'am but I have never seen that man before in my life."
The woman, his mother, leaves the room, breaking down.
A few months ago Taehyung had told the man he loved:
"I could never forget you Jungkook"
And he had believed it. He had believed that he would never forget who he was.
Now, he had no memories. He couldn't even remember his own name.
The Jungkook he had loved more than himself had disappeared from his memory.
Forever.
