Impossible

Part 2

It's been a month since my parents had the divorce. It's been a bit hard but not too bad. Half of the week I stay at my moms house and the rest I stay at my dads house. This last week Ive mostly stayed at my moms house. My dad kept using some dumb excuses for me to stay at mom. I don't know what he's hiding but I hope it's not what I think it is.

I just finished English class. I got out of class and opened my phone to see a text from Katy.
Katy: Guys meet me by my locker, cause I have something important to tell you.
Me: Ok.
Jessica: Kk
We went to Katys locker and saw her there.
Jessica: So what did you want to tell us?
Katy: Guys there are 2 new guys in school. One is a freshman and the other one is a junior.
Me: Really?
Katy: Yeah. I had History with one of them. His name was Dylan. We talked the whole class. He was so cute.
Jessica: Oh my god Katy. Stop falling so quickly. You barely know him.
Katy: I just said he was cute. I didn't say I have a crush on him.
Me: Katy stop lying.
Katy: Ok ok, you caught me.
Jessica: Did he seem nice?
Katy: Yeah. Oh there he is.
I turned my head to see where she was looking at and saw two guys walking our way.
Dylan: Hey Katy.
Katy: Hi.
Dylan: I wanted to introduce you to my brother, Caleb.
Ok, wow. They were very handsome.
Caleb: Hey.
Katy: These are my friends, Alissa and Jessica.
Caleb, Dylan: Nice to meet you.
Jessica, me: You too.
Dylan: Well I got to get to class. See you guys later.
Katy, Jessica, me: Bye.
Me: They seemed nice.
Jessica: And hot.
Me: Haha that too.

I arrived home and saw my dad there.
Me: Hey dad. What are doing home from work so early?
Dad: We need to talk.
Me: Oh ok. What about?
Dad: Well you know your mom and I got a divorce.
Me: Yeah dad I know. You don't have to remind me.
Dad: Im seeing someone new now.
Me: What?! Don't you think its too early? You guys have been divorced for a month, and you're already seeing someone new?
Dad: Its not like that. I've known her for a long time. Plus shes very nice. You'll love her.
Me: Dad come on.
Dad: She's coming over for dinner. She has 2 kids your age and Im sure you're going to get along well with them.

I got ready and went downstairs. My dad and I were waiting for them to arrive. We heard the door knock.
Dad: That must be them.
My dad went to open the door. And then I saw a woman and 2 guys get in. Wait a minute. The guys are the new kids from school, Dylan and Caleb.
Margaret: Hi darling. You must be Alissa. Your father has told me so much about you. My name is Margaret.
Me: Nice to meet you Margaret.
Then I turned to the boys. Dylan was on his phone which was kind of rude.
Me: Hey Caleb.
Caleb: Hey Alissa.
Margraret: You know each other?
Caleb: Yeah we meet in school.
I then turned to Dylan. He was still on his phone. I reached out my hand for a handshake.
Me: Hey.
Dylan: Hi and um, I don't do handshakes.
Margaret: Dylan be nice.
Dylan: Sorry. Hi, I just love handshakes.
He said in a sarcastic voice.
Dylan: Happy now?
He seemed so much nicer in school. I guess it was all fake.
Margaret: Sorry for that Alissa.
Me: It's ok.
We then went into the dining room and sat down. My dad served the food and then we all started eating. When we were finished we talked for a bit and then they left. Margaret seemed pretty nice, but still. Its way to early for my dad to get a girlfriend.
