I walk around town in my favorite hoodie, passing various shops. I put on my earbuds and listen to 'Take Me Out' as I stroll, coming across a park, and nearby, a cemetery. I walk into the cemetery, and I look at all the graves, and dead flowers. It seems no one visits the cemetery. I stop by a statue in the center, it portrayed a tall, slender, male in a tux, and it looked as though the statue didn't have a face. I studied the gray statue, intrigued. I saw a plaque at the base and read it: 'This town is haunted by the Slender Man. The forest is his domain, anyone who enters it will instantly draw his attention. Those who enter the forest rarely make it back, and those who do....... God bless their souls.' I stood up and sighed before walking away, taking the earbuds out of my ears as the song was over. There was a gentle breeze lightly filling my hoodie, the wind rustle some dead leaves around and....... scrape against the stone? I turn around to the sound of something scraping against a gravestone. Staring at me was a white, dirty, long, skinny creature that was fairly humanoid but crawled on it's hands and legs and had long sharp fingers. The wind blew off my hoodie as we stared each other down. Once the wind stopped the creature rushed at me as I instinctually leaped to the side. We walked around in a circle, clockwise. It rushed again, I rolled under it's leap and ran, trying to find any alleyways, or corners I can turn to get this thing off my trail. The streets seemed eerily deserted as no one was out in the middle of this calm day, well, calm despite the monster chasing me. I turned a few corners but it always seemed to know which path I took, and was getting closer and closer. I knew that this time I couldn't escape it by jumping into a lake. In fact, my instincts seemed to be inactive, like there was no trick I can pull to get out of this. I kept running anyway, and as I did, my leg muscles began to tire, but I knew that no matter what happened I was going to be caught, so I kept struggling anyway, just because. My legs burned, the muscles ached, my feet sore from slamming on the ground with each step. The breeze picked up as I kept running, cooling off my upper body as my legs continue to shake with each, rapid, step. I eventually realized that I had run to the opposite side of the town, and the creature was no where in sight.

I walk back to my house and go to the kitchen. I make dinner and sit down at the dining table. My legs taking a break, and shutting down from the fatigue. After finishing my dinner I look outside at the dark skies. I couldn't get up as my legs refused to work from the desperate running, so I fell asleep on the chair.

I wake up, and stretch. As I stand up, I feel lighter, like my body had just been filled with helium. I walk around and nearly stumble into my couch as I had just surged toward it with a few steps. I walk to the door to head outside, possibly to jog around town to see how fast I got, when I saw someone at the edge of the forest. There was a girl with bleach white skin, she wore a hoodie and stared at me on the patio. The hooded girl started walking to me. My instincts weren't telling me anything, which told me two things, either I was about to get into a really shitty situation, or there was no threat present. Considering the girl had a knife in her hand, I decided that it was likely the dangerous one. After she took a few steps, I start to run away as fast as I could, until I realized that I had already turned many corners, and the lady was no where near. I slow down and continue to walk around the now busy town, preparing for another situation where I would have to run around. But I suddenly got this feeling that I was a kid in a playground, and the adults were watching. I walked around anyway, trying to shake the feeling of dread and impossible helplessness.
