Chapter 2: Two bad lucks followed because of the first one

---------------------

"Ms. Tolledo?" The salesclerk shouts Hanna's name after gathering the books that Hanna requested for.

It's the last day of the school's first week of class, Friday. Hanna decided to buy her books today because there were only few students who haven't brought their books yet, and that means it will not take her much time to buy books, unlike the past days where there are many students rushed to buy theirs.

"Ma'am." Hanna answered back, and walk to the counter where the salesclerk was waiting.

"Nandito na ang mga libro mo. Filipino check, History of the Western Countries check, English Literature check..." said the salesclerk, who's busy checking the list while Hanna is also checking if the books stated by the salesclerk were right. There are roughly 6 thick books and 4 thin ones Hanna has to buy.

"Okay. Lahat ng nasa listahan mo ay nandito na. P7, 812.75 lahat." Hanna paid the salesclerk and braced herself for bringing the books to her locker. She's just a petite girl who's strength to carry loads of books is not enough for her.

There are only few students inside the bookstore and they seemed to be busy on ther own way and not bothering on someone else's matters. Hanna roamed her eyes in searching for someone to help her carry the books but there's no sign of a good samaritan.

Honestly, hindi ako Superwoman para dalhin tong mabibigat na libro, Hanna thought to herself.

She's waiting for her prince to come and save her for bringing those heavy books. Unfortunately, she's standing on the same spot where the salesclerk left her books and no one inside came for her to rescue.

Too bad wala akong Prince Charming. Naman oh! Porket ba pangit ako walang tutulong sa'kin ng mga librong ito?! Gaaah! Guess, I'm bringing this things all by myself . Ang layo pa naman nun. She talked to herself again.

Hanna arranged the books inside the two plastic bags and carry the first plastic bag with her right hand and the other on her left. Clearly, with her expression and body movements, Hanna is struggling to carry the books. Just as when she's about to fall the plastic bags accidentally, someone hold her hands to help her.

Gosh!! My Prince Charming. She said mentally with a thankful voice.

Hanna fixed her eyeglasses that's about to fall and looked at the man who just helped her. She was shocked!

With an angry tone, she said, "Tabi nga! Paharang-harang ka kasi sa dinadaanan ko eh! Tignan mo, muntik ko nang mahulog to" she quickly get off her hands from the man's gripped.

It was Grant. Grant Adamson. Her classmate who constantly irritates her without a vocal reason.

"Ikaw na nga 'tong tinutulungan ko may gana ka pang magalit." said Adam who placed his hands at each sides of his pocket.

"Tinatanong ko ba ang tulong mo?! Aber?!" she asked irritably.

"Hindi." he quickly answered.

"Ganun naman pala eh. Kaya shooo-shooo ka na." she waved her hands as if gesturing him to get out from her sight.

"Para namang kaya mong dalhin yan lahat. Hindi ka pa nga nakakaalis dito sa bookstore, nahihirapan ka na." Grant said without moving his feet. She sensed worried in his voice.

No! Arte lang niya yan Honey. Hindi yan marunong mag-alala no. She said mentally assuring herself that what she sensed was wrong.

"Duh. Hindi ko kailangan ng tulong mo. Aliiis!" Shooing Grant off her sight wasn't that easy. He's still standing near her and didn't move.
