I crumple the picture and toss it aside, burying my face into my hands.  Against my back, i could feel the knocks ripple through the door and onto my back. On the kitchen table, my phone starts to ring and vibrate against the table, startling me.

"Miss, can you please open the door?" the woman continues to ask.

"I don't know anything about this," I tell her again.

"Only a few questions. It won't take longer than a minute."

I don't bother replying, turning my attention to my ringing phone instead. Quickly blowing my nose with some toilet paper from the bathroom, I clear my nose before answering. It's Greg.

"Wait a bit," I answer, running upstairs to make sure the people outside aren't eavesdropping. Still shaken up, I hide in the bathroom and even lock the door. "Hello?" I ask, sitting on the edge of the bathtub and keeping my eyes on the doorknob.

"Wendy, are you okay?" I can hear him slightly panting.

"Yeah, why?" I lie.

"You can't be in the hotel right now. I think some people are going to show up to find me."

I don't reply.

"Wendy? Hello?"

"They're already here..."

"What? Then why didn't you say anything?"

"I-I don't know! They're waiting outside of my room and I don't know how to get them to go away. I already told them I don't know anything-" my voice starts to break again.

"Call the hotel management and tell them to get rid of the people."

"I can't. What if Carson gets in trouble with his aunt because of me?"

"Wendy, none of this is your fault. It's mine..."

"No, it's not-"

"Wait there. I'll get rid of them." Greg stops the call before I can say anything else.

Hesitantly, I leave the bathroom and slowly approach the front door. Pressing my ear against it, I listen in to the people outside.

"Where did she go? Is she even in there?"

"I don't know. Damn it!"

"Are you sure we didn't confuse her with someone else?"

"Wait, he just posted a picture at the mall nearby."

"Gregory Grayson did?"

"Yeah, the idiot forgot to turn off his location. Hah! It's our lucky day."

They stampede down the hall and I wait for silence before peering out the hall again.

"Wendy!" I fall backwards and the door swings wide open. Greg insdie and stares at me in shock. Seeing his face, I finally sigh in relief.

"Greg, how did you get here so fast?"

"I was already on my way here," he pants, catching his breath.

"You ran here?"

"I'd say it was more of a light jog," he jokes, helping me up and then closing the door behind us. "We can't stay here anymore. Pack up. I'll take you home."

 "What about Wren?"

"She can come home with the others later. She's been pretty independent this whole trip so far anyways."

I nod in agreement, but the only thing holding me back is the thought of leaving Vincent. At the same time, I didn't want Vincent to find out about all of this and worry.
