chapter one

~~~ Artemis's POV~~~~~

As I twirled around in my ball gown, giggling, as it was my 16th birthday, and my parents had agreed to let me invite the whole kingdom. I stopped twirling something or should I say someone caught my eye, I looked at my friend's to see if they saw that person but they showed no sign of it. I shrugged and walked over to see my Mother talking to one of the lady's-in-waiting. "......yes, we must not tell her not yet." Is all I heard my mother say before she saw me. "Tell me what mother?" I asked, confused at what she was talking about. "Oh it was nothing, Honey. Now, how is your birthday so far? Soon you will get to see our big surprise." My mother- Queen Rachel- said. "Ok Mother," I said when one of my favorite songs came on. I smiled and ran to the dance floor, to dance with my friends (song and dance at the top.) We danced and giggled at our silliness. When the song ended, I saw the same person, and decided to walk up to him. "Hello..... I don't remember seeing you at the beginning of the party. Would you please tell me your name?" I asked. But he only looked at me and grunted "My name is Cole." He said before walking off. "Hey wait!" I said and ran off after him but he ran out of the ballroom, and down the halls, and I lost him when we turned a corner. I looked around confused, and scared at the same time. As I walked back to the ballroom, I couldn't help up notice that I didn't recognize this part of the palace, and realized that this is the East wing, the one part of the palace I'm not allowed at. "Your Highness! Your mother and father were worried, after you ran off. Please come with me!" My maid, Luna, said. "I'm coming Luna!" I said before I felt someone grab my waist and pull me out the window. "Princess Artemis!" She screamed reaching out of the window to grab my hand. Our fingers brushed each other's before I was out of reach. "Get my brother Apollo!" I yelled before seeing her leave. I was sent down on the ground only to see my kidnapper. "Who are you?!?" I asked before her grabbed my hand and pulled me into the woods. I tried to pull out of grasp, before he swung me in front of him, and picked me up bridle style, and continue. "Stop." I said and he looked down at me and stopped putting me down. "Who are you and why have you kidnapped me?" I asked trying to get answers from him. He growled but answered me anyways "My name is Cole Ares, and I come from the Eagle Kingdom and the Sky kingdom is about to be under attack." He said with a straight face. I only looked at him confused and slapped. I took that chance to run home. Before I could get 5 feet away he grabbed my waist and pulled me farther away from the kingdom of Sky. "Artemis!!.......
