Nothing More Than Friends (Harry Styles)

Chapter 7

Walking out of that cafeteria with Harry could of been a big mistake but what I know is that whats a mistake not taken? I really didn't want to be stuck in that crowded room with all my friends bombarding Harry with questions. I quess you could say I wasnt ready to share him yet. 

We walked down the hall slowly to waste time, as we still have at least fifteen minutes until next period. I decided to break the ice and ask my drooling question that has been haunting me.

"So," I start off, dreading what I fear will be his response, I decide to pull up my big girl pants and ask him.

"do you have a girlfriend?" Phwew! That came out easier than I had expected, however, now I have to wait and hear the words that nobody wants to hear. I realise that now, probably wasnt the right time to ask him becase he goes on shy mode and keeps fidgiting. I guess thats my answer then, all girls know that once a guy is fidgity, he's going to lie. So I go out there and say,

"Nevermind, Nevermind I even asked you I knew you would say yes. I mean why would you be single when you look like that? I mean, um-" I ramble a lot, i mean a lot and especially in this moment, Harry was just staring at me with those piercing green eyes. I swear he could see my whole soul. But what happened next, completely caught me off guard. He muttered my name as if he had'nt spoken in awhile, the way that guys sound sexy right when they wake up. He leaned in, brushing a stray hair away from my face, cupped my cheek and tilted his head, then WHAM!

Jake's POV

What happened last night, completely caught me off guard. I can see exactly how Hailey must of felt. I will be completely honest with you that I started to like her. She has this sort of quirky, girly personality that just completely took me off guard. But I mean, Brittany and I have been together for about a year now, and I feel like things aren't the way they used to be. We used to be so into everything but now, I think its just for the fun of it. Ever since school started again, Hailey just kinda made me forget about Brittany and her continuous partying and basically just playing me. So I thought that it would be fun to aks Hailey out so that I could get to know her (cheezy, i know) but, she seems so much more than what Brittany is. Yes, Brittany is cheer captain, but I think its time to switch things up, and go for a completely different girl with not only beauty but brains.

When hailey said yes, to hanging out, I got over stoked. I knew that Brittany was having a girls night so perfect timing right? Later did I find out, nope. Anyways, when Hailey knocked on my door last night, my words were stolen out of my mouth. She looked stunning. no, she wasnt dressed up all fancy, but she was in jeans and a flowy blouse which could go by fancy in her category anyday. We ordered pizza and were watching movies and everything was going fine. I felt like she was really into me so, I leaned in and kissed her. She didnt pull back, so I decided to deeepen things and thats when the front door opened and a priceless faced Brittany was standing there shocked. So shocked she even screamed. I honestly didnt know what to do, but I remembered that Brittany was my girlfriend and she just caught me cheating so I need to try and make things right. I though that going over her and talking it out would make her forgive me, and I guess so, cuz she gave me a hug and that's when the glass shattered caused from a slammed front door.

Brittany's POV

I was having a girls night the other night and things were getting really boring and I missed Jake, so I decided to surprise him and sneak over to his house. When I got there, I was instantly getting pumped up knowing that his parents were away and all the possibilities that we had together for this night. I opened the door in a rush, hoping to run to his room but thats where I stopped dead in my tracks. I screamed. He was their with this other girl full on making out. As soon as he heard my entrance, he jumped to his feet and ran over to me to tell me that he was sorry and thats when I caught a glimpse of the girl. It was Hailey. Of course! I could of seen the trouble in her eyes the first day I saw her. I decided to make her extra pissed so I wrapped my arms around Jake as if I had fully forgiven him and she stormed  out of the room, causing a mirror to shatter. Suits her.
