The day went by.

Not too slowly.

But it didn't flash by either.

At the end of the day, full of me telling people not to call me Alex, it was finally over.

I walked out of class with Ellie.

I walked passed Levi a couple of times as well.

And he was in most of my classes too.

And I know I should have been focusing on my learning, or the teachers names and stuff...

But the only thing I was able to focus on... was Levi.

And I don't want to sound so basic or cliché but I don't know what's happening to me.

It's just something about him...

Like there's more too him...

As if we have some kind of connection...

But I had to get my mind off it.

As Ellie and I walked to our lockers, which I got to prepare during lunch time, I asked her.

"So Ellie. I know this might be too soon, or you're hanging out with me just because you feel bad or whatever-"

"No! Don't say that Alexandra. We might not know each other that well yet, but I am for sure not becoming friends with you for that reason only!"

Once she said that, she looked at me and without saying anything, hugged me.

There was something inside me, that sparked. Lit up.

I haven't hugged anyone in a long time.

Well except my dad, but that's different.

I smiled and with all the enthusiasm I had in myself I asked her

"So, friend-"

We both laughed.

"Wanna come over to my house today?"

"Sure thing! I'll have to ask my mom but I bet she's too busy taking care of my three younger brothers to realize that I wouldn't even be there."

She gave me a thumbs up and opened her locker.

I didn't have a lock yet so I opened mine easily.

Then I saw Levi.

And realized that his locker is right above mine.

GREAT.

Just great.

He came closer.

Of course to open his locker.

It's not like I had any hope that he would say something to me or anything...

I stood up and faced him.

Our eyes met again.

But I quickly brushed off and walked towards Ellie.

We sat on the bus.

And waited....

And waited....

And waited until the last stop.

We walked past the driver as we were getting off.

"Thank you!" Ellie told him and waved as he left.
