Turtle had been through enough adventure for a lifetime.

Sure, he'd dreamed of it since he was a 2-year-old, but that was before he had seen a 2,000+ animus NightWing collapse an entire mountain by spreading his wings. Now, he was perfectly happy to spend the rest of his life at school, hanging out with Kinkajou. He certainly wasn't expecting another adventure to drop on his head.

So when Moon and Qibli suddenly dropped onto Jade Mountain's prey center (where he was enjoying some fish, NOT stalking Kinkajou while she had her suntime), he may have jumped a mile.

"W-what are you doing here?" he stammered, the fish he was holding slipping through his talons. "I mean..hey, what's up?" Turtle, you jellyfish, he scolded himself. Come on, your friends are here. You're being ridiculous. They couldn't have found another problem this soon after Darkstalker.

Could they?

"Oh, are you coming back to school?" he asked Qibli, relived.Maybe that's all.

Moon and Qibli shared a glance. "Not exactly," Qibli admitted. "There's a...situation. Something we hoped maybe you could...help with?" he asked hopefully. "Please?"

"Um," Turtle said, a little bashfully. "I'm kinda...good, adventure-wise. Thanks anyway."

"Oh, no, it's nothing like that, Turtle," Moon assured him. "We just mean...we need to borrow something."

"Ah," Turtle said, feeling a little put out. They don't want me? Is this because I got kidnapped by  Darkstalker last time? "Sure. What do you need?"

Qibli grinned. "Really? Thanks!" He hesitated. "Could we please see your objects?"

"All of them?" Turtle blinked as he led them to his cave. "Three moons, what have you gotten yourselves into now?" Qibli and Moon both snorted. "Looong story," Moon muttered, as they rounded through the entrance to his cave. Thankfully, his new clawmate was gone. The IceWing had made it very clear what he thought of Turtle and his magic.

"What do you need, then?" Turtle asked, unceremoniously dumping a bag full of magic onto the floor. He saw Qibli's talons twitch, as if he wanted to hold them more gently. Turtle felt a little defensive. Well, at least I didn't enchant anything breakable! It's not like it caused any harm!

(And then he felt stupid for sitting there arguing with himself, and tried to tune back in.)

Moon tilted his head at him, and for a second Turtle worried that she could read his mind after all. But no, she was waiting for the answer to something. He tried to remember what. "So can we? Double your objects?"

"Sure. Why again?"

"To save an entire continent," Moon explained patiently.

"Oh. Kinkajou will be so excited." Turtle hesitated. "Should we, um...should we wake her up? She's in the middle of suntime..."

"Oooo." Qibli winced, half joking, "She'll probably never forgive us if she misses out on part of an adventure. Again." He and Moon exchanged another look. Turtle was a little wary. What if this is really dangerous?

And then he remembered it was Kinkajou they were talking about.
