A/N: It wasn't supposed to go like this

Hi. This announcement was a long time coming, but I want to officially say that I will not be updating this story again. This is because a) I am very lazy and b) this story was meant to propose a possible ending to the third arc which is no longer possible. Some of this was my original plan, some added as I got new ideas up until the publishing of The Poison Jungle, despite not ultimately being canon-compatible

Here is the breakdown for how the plot would have went down (loose because I had no plan lol):

1. Sundew would have returned to give them an update about what was happening with the HiveWings (and mentioned something about her girlfriend because this story was nothing if not a vehicle for my ships)

2. Qibli would tell Winter about the scavengers on the Lost Continent via Turtle's messaging thing (they each have a receiving and writing slate thanks to his doubling bowl), prompting him to come.

2. Moon, Luna and Qibli would have gone into the Hive and Moon would be first thought to be the Second Coming of Clearsight before everyone got possessed by Queen Wasp and captured her (when I started this story I had a thing for the damsel in distress trope).

3. Team-building time! Winter arrives and everyone tells him what is happening.

4. Everyone goes to rescue Moon and gets captured.

5. Queen Wasp confronts them personally. Using Pyrite's necklace (which I assume is still in Winter's possession) they transform her into Pyrite (I really like Pyrite and still low-key want this to happen).

6. They crown Jewel queen of the HiveW ings, Luna queen of the SilkWings and Belladonna queen of the LeafWings and use the Turtle Bowl to make more trees from Cricket's seedling to repopulate Pantala with trees (hence the title).

7. Epilogue: Blue wakes up surrounded by the gang and a bunch of new trees.

Throw in a bunch of cringey fluff and jokes and that's pretty much it. I started it before I knew about the Breath of Evil or the SapWings or even Cricket's parentage, so it doesn't really work for resolving everything or even make sense anymore. I'm thinking about taking this story down altogether; if you would like me to keep it up (with this note included) then please comment so. Thank you for reading!
