On an ordinary day, traffic was slow in New York. It is late March, the weather had been a bit chaotic since NASA's weather stabilizer was destroyed by alien foreigners, it's been ten years since the attack. The great city of New York was slowly rebuilding itself to its former state.
Luminosity, or known by her nickname Lumi, walks down the side walk to her favorite restaurant, "The Coffee Bee-n," where she goes for two reasons, Pumpkin spice latte and work. Lumi's job is to create designs for a universal satellite capable of detecting movement deep space and a weapons system capable of penetrating alien metal, for the National Earth Protection Force or; NEP-Force, as requested by Derrius, the head of NEP-Force.
Designs for the satellite and weapons system were complex enough to require more complex programs and software, thus computers needed better CPU, faster Memory and RAM just to handle the said programs and software. But in the current year of 2050, precisely ten years after the attack, Invention of newer technology had drastically slowed down.
But Lumi had an idea. In japan, the world's most advanced technological lab called IN-GEN, which resides in Tokyo the capital of Japan, has technology more advanced than any other nation. Luckily, IN-GEN is a partner of NEP-Force despite a few arguments in the past. But the only way Lumi can get in contact with them is she'd have to physically go to Japan herself, as contact with the company is highly restricted for reasons. Lumi takes her phone from her bag and makes a call.
Lumi resumed to add and make changes on the designs while waiting for Derrius to come with the passports, contract, and other security measurements required just to get in the doors of IN-GEN. Becoming slightly impatient, Derrius comes walking to Lumi with a hard-plastic case, sunglasses, and what Lumi assumed to be the passports held tightly in his hand. "and I thought Derrius was the one to be on time, specially after his 'always be on time or before time motivational' speech". Lumi said, looking him in the eyes sipping her latte. Derrius smirked, chuckling, "says the one who's late on every Friday just to get a pumpkin spice latte". Lumi growls, by the fact Lumi is always coming in work late with a Pumpkin spice latte. "hey, you leave my latte alone, don't mess with my latte!" Lumi snapped with a hint of aggressive humor. Derrius smiles, rolling his eyes observing Lumi with the designs. It isn't long till they're gate is called to be boarded.
The plane ride to Tokyo was comfortable. Derrius bought First-class tickets for Lumi and him, he wanted his 'favorite' employee to be comfortable on the way there. While Lumi worked, which conveniently the plane just happens to have WI-FI, Derrius went over the contracts several times making sure everything is correct, due to IN-GEN being under high security. if any mistakes were made on the contract or other private papers will send them behind bars for eternity.
When Lumi and Derrius arrived, they quickly gathered their belongings, and made way to the Lab. But finding and getting there were problems that needed to be resolved. Lumi was first to break the silence between her and Derrius, "I knew Tokyo is big, but I never knew it was this big! But of course, satellite images change the size perspective." With, Lumi had completely forgotten her laptop on the plane, "forgetting something of importance ma'am?" Derrius asked, holding up the laptop. Lumi gives a sigh of relief and grabs the laptop only for it to be jerked away, "since it was your idea to come here, and clearly out of hand space I'll voluntarily carry it for you." Lumi smiles in response to his unexpected kind gesture.
Derrius looks around, spotting a map post at the airport entrance with brochure style maps. He takes one and looks over with Lumi having to look over his shoulder, he notices this and gives one end of the map to Lumi. "there's a five star not far from here, five miles and in walking distance. So, we don't have to pay for transportation." Derrius confirms, neatly folding the map and slips it in his leather jacket pocket.
