I placed the tiara gently on the velvet cushion and started walking away. The precious stones that the tiara has reflected the lights which made it shine. I started walking away while removing my shoes so that it won't click as I tiptoe through a dark hallway. It says in the map that this path leads to an open window to the gardens, the back of the palace.

I admire my little hideaway.

A moment from now i'll be out there in our secret garden, sitting in the grass and counting the stars. Freedom.

"There she is!" Familiar voices shouted from behind. The maids, headed by Good-aunt Miranda.

Not a problem, really. I ran to the only window where the moon shines bright, illuminating the area.

"Your Highness, come back! Please come back!" Miranda shouted, running towards me with one of her worried looks. Poor woman. She's been serving the Adlerrian Palace for long.

"I'll be back, I promise," I winked at her.

"Promise me no promises, Your Highness," Miranda smiled creepily.

I heard footsteps coming. I knew it. Baileywick, my butler, must've anticipated that I will run away again tonight.

I always run away.

Maybe he prepared a battalion of soldiers to chase me? Nah, piece of blueberry cheesecake. I mean, uhm (let me clear my throat) running away from Mister Baileywick and his troops has always been an easy task to accomplish.

"You are not going anywhere, Your Highness," he said in a calm way, as if he's prepared.

Nah, still easy.

The footsteps stopped and there stood, in front of me, fifteen palace guards from the Adlerrian kingdom and the host, the Hesperus palace.

The guards encircled me, expanding their arms. I just sighed, ripped the peticoat of my amber gown and threw the pieces away.

"Princess you can't.. the gown..his Majesty will," Aunt Miranda stuttered. I just sighed and started taking the guards away, two by one. Some of them were kicked on their most sensitive parts. Not my fault, haha.

About the gown,of course they cared about it, it was sent by he-whom-i-don't-want-to-name. His Majesty.

"There she is!" More guards started approaching.

Damn, I should get away from here.

I pushed one of the guards and they all stumbled down like a domino. That was funny.

Good thing that the window is open. I rushed and climbed, my shoe in hand, the other one was left.

As I made my free fall a low whistle came from my lips. My bidy did'nt touched the ground as soon as a white horse catched me.

"Ouch," I almost fell. That was quite unexpected. "I did'nt expect you to be a little late my handsome swain," he chuckled at my words.

"Pardon me, my beautiful maiden, but this prince of yours was ordered by a stubborn girl. Now, where would you like to spend the night?" He turned his head at me slightly and his lips curved into a perfect sweet smile.

"So we're totally escaping?" His smile widened.

"Certainly. Well, weren't you always called.. The Runaway Princess?"
