~Michaels POV~
The night was quit as I stealthily dug through the trash for scraps. Once in a while if was lucky, I might also find a little goodie, or something pretty to decorate with. My nimble fingers quickly sorted everything in the dumpster and I finally found what I was hoping for, an almost rotted package of deli meat! I pocketed it and went to the next dumpster and after 10 minutes of searching, I found a red, pear shaped glass bottle. The sunlight would be magnificent as it shines through this, I thought with satisfaction. That's it for today, I packed up the bottle so it wouldn't break and then climbed up the wall with practiced grace. Hopping from building to building, I wonder where I will go tomorrow to scrounge. I think that one butchers place throws out stuff tomorrow but I'm not quite sure. I slow down. knowing that I'm close to the house is comforting. Once I get home I'll eat, put my glass in the window, and then probably sleep. As you can see, my life was never interesting, I'm just another faceless poor person that roams the streets, scrounges for food, and lives in an abandoned building. It isnt great but it's not so bad. out here, it's almost lawless, I can basically do whatever and no one will care. I try to think positively. I focus more on where I was actually going only to realize that I was two buildings ahead of my house. I sigh and backtrack to my "door" and crawl into the building, closing the window with my foot before dropping down from the ceiling. And finally I lower the blinds. This is the average teenage life in the year 2056. I sigh and plop down onto my bed, opening the container and about to dig in when suddenly, I heard a boom and then my building shaking violently. I quickly access the inside of the building. I conclude that it could fall any minute, killing me with it. I quickly throw open the window and jump onto the building next to me, clinging to the sturdier structure for dear life. The explosions lasted for another minute or so before it died down, only leaving the screams and cries of people on the ground, and airplanes above. I eventually peered over the top of the building only to find the capital destroyed. I could hear the faint sounds of guns going off. So it was an attack on the White House and the president himself. I thought about it before I finally said, "He deserved it anyways". I look behind me expecting the worse, only to see my house perfectly fine. "Oh, thank you every lord that has blessed me on this fine day" I joke to myself and climb back inside, slipping away into a light sleep.
