(Red day)

"Goooood morrow, sir," Bucky grinned as Clint chucked his bag into the 2006 Buick's back seat and clambered in. Steve was in the front seat today.

"Morning," Steve said simply to which Clint grunted a soft response.

"Something up?"

"Stupid bull shit.."

"He said a bad, Steve!" Bucky gasped as he pulled out onto the main road. Steve on the other hand rolled his eyes, then turned in his seat to look back at Clint.

"What's up, man?"

"I dunno, I just hate my family a lot."

"They can't be all bad," Steve said optimistically.

"Oh yeah?" Clint crossed his arms. "Just last week they took the handle off my door because they think i'm gonna start bringing guys home, so excuse me if I'm not feeling the love."

"Are they being all domineering of your life again?" Bucky asked, looking through the rear view mirror at him. Clint nodded.

"Well, where's the silver lining in life right now?" Of course Steve was the one trying to find the bright side. At least Clint had one today.

"Laura asked me on a date."

Bucky's eyes widened and he choked, swerving back into his lane.

"Jesus Christ, Buck, you swallow too hard?" Clint laughed, his whole body jerking a seat over.

"Oh my God," Steve groaned, pressing his palm to his head. "Anyways, congrats, buddy!"

"Yeah, that's great!" Bucky ignored the previous question and his smile wasn't very real.

"Thanks.." Clint blushed lightly as he pulled his phone from his pocket, sending a good morning text to the girl in question.

"Does she know you're.." Steve trailed off. He wasn't sure what was offensive and what wasn't. What a cinnamon roll.

"Trans? No, but she's a nice girl.. and if she's attracted to girls.. maybe she's more than just bi, y'know?" He shrugged.

"Yeah, hopefully," Bucky nodded, but he wasn't really hopeful. He really wanted to hop out the car and let it run him over and he didn't know why.

"You should invite her to hang out at the game. Y'know Tony's got us all going to his place after."

"Yeah, maybe," Clint nodded absentmindedly. "Wait, shit, like all night?"

"Mhm," Steve hummed. "I mean, with all the drinking thats gonna go on, I don't think I'll let any of you go home."

What a dad.

"C'mon, it's after the game, you could at least get a beer down," Bucky elbowed his friend. He himself could really go for about 18 at the moment.

"My mom's coworker's son's birthday is Saturday afternoon, so no can do." Bucky sent a confused look Steve's way.

"I can't either, my parents don't want me sleeping over with anyone anymore," Clint huffed as Bucky parked behind the school.

"Why?"

"Since I forgot to take my own clothes last time it makes us seem poor and that is one thing we will never be seen as. God, no it doesn't. It makes me an idiot and thats it, okay?"

"You had jeans, it wasn't exactly planned that you stayed over." Bucky hated when Clints mom said that stuff.

"Well, to her it was. I said I was staying at Nat's, remember?"

"But still-"

"No, apparently every god damn thing is my fault." Clint got out of the car, handing Steve his bag and slinging his own over his shoulder. "I mean, I know it's not but- whatever I don't wanna deal with it right now."

"I'm sorry, Clint," Steve sighed, placing a hand on his shoulder. It was meant to be comforting but it just felt awkward. How would you feel if a man who was about 800 times taller and more muscular than you gently grabbed your shoulder. "At least you won't get misgendered around us-"

"Claire!" The three boys turned to see Laura coming towards them. Bucky's shoulders dropped.

"Laura, hey!" Clint grinned as she hugged him. "You know Steve and Bucky."

"Yeah, hey," She smiled, waving to them. Steve had a sly smirk, one that only an innocent soul would wear. "How are you?"

"Good," Steve nodded politely. "I've gotta go meet Peggy, see ya later." Bucky gave him a glare as if saying how dare you leave me, but bid him a goodbye as well.

"So uh," Laura mumbled as the three stood by Bucky's car. "You wanna go by Teas Me after school?" Teas Me was a sweet little pastry shop just before you officially got into downtown.

"Yeah, that'd be great!" Clint's face was entirely lit up. The alarm on the Buick blared, startling the three of them.

"Ah, fuckin hell!" Bucky cursed as he yanked the keys out of his pockets. "God damnit, I'm so sorry, just ignore me." Clint was too busy doubled over laughing to ignore him. Buck finally silenced the car, his entire face bright red. Laura was giggling too.

"Oh my god!" Clint finally managed, getting an embarrassed glare in return.

"Hey, we should get to class," Laura said, gently holding onto one of Clint's arm. She wasn't really trying to pull him away from Bucky, but that's how the tomato faced boy saw it. He said nothing though.

"Yeah, see ya later, Bucky," Clint smiled as he walked with Laura into the building. Buck stayed by the car for a good minute, just trying to comprehend how his best friend was being taken so quickly.

"Hey," Clint grinned as he jogged up to Bucky in the hall. Bucky hummed in response.

"I texted my mom and she said so long as I'm home by 11:30 I can hang out at Tony's Friday."

"That's great."

"Aaaanddd it's a no date night. Well, besides Bruce and Nat since they're OG group members and all, but they're not problematic like Tony and Pepper," Clint laughed. Bucky glanced up at that, starting to smile.

"No girlfriends? Think you can handle being away from Laura for that long?" He teased, shouldering his friend lightly as they walked to class.

"She's not my girlfriend!" Clint whined, shoving Bucky back. "Besides, it's not fair you can tease me like this when you have no one I can tease you about."

"Cause I'm a lone wolf." Bucky held his chin high and proud, but on the inside it kinda hurt. Yeah, he had no one.
