"You've been good

"You've been good. You've decided to take the easy route, I respect that. I was going to torture you by scalding. We were going to start with water, then switch to oil, and then my personal favorite, sugar. But since you decided to be a man and face your punishment like a man, my men will only beat you as men. No weapons, just you versus everyone here. We've made a circle in the middle of the room for you, marking where you can go. You are not to leave the circle, consciously at least. I'll even allow you to fight back, as a reward for good behavior. Keep making this easy and you'll find yourself in the circle more times than not. A real shame though, I had everyone looking forward to your screams. But I'm not a monster. Think of me as a teacher, I am only here to teach lessons. Giving rewards as I see fit to those with good behavior."

I hope he doesn't expect a thank you. There're at least twenty Olympic weightlifters in this warehouse , and then there's V. As long as I cause that pretty boy some more pain, this'll all be worth it. I'm thrown into position in the center of the circle as the other brutes surround the outer perimeter. I face V, he's all I care about. I know I'm going to take a beating but it won't be from him. I'll aim for that white strip across his nose, see if I can't make it anymore crooked.

"When I ring the bell, begin."

DING!

I sprint toward V, the other men pause for a moment at the sight of my sudden rush. V runs towards me and finally we meet. My fist landing a superman punch right across that white strip as planned as he throws a punch I can barely feel.

His screams sound like I broke his nose again. I step back and spread my arms open in victory. Feeling accomplished I close my eyes. Laughter breaks out from some of the men while another, lands the hardest punch I've ever felt on my left jaw. My body lifts from the ground and I enjoy weightlessness until my face smashes into the ground. I begin to feel my consciousness slip away, the rest of the beating shouldn't be a problem. At least I won't become a burn victim tonight, if I followed Carol's advice to go to the police, I would've been screwed...

3 Days Ago:

"I'm so sorry. Who knew you'd be in trouble with the Russian mafia?! You have to go to the police. They can place you in witness protection." Carol tries to whisper to me as the diner has a few patrons.

"They don't want to kill me Carol. They only want to rough me up for a few months. I don't even know what this first punishment is going to be. If I go and they have me fighting tigers maybe I'll search for an alternative. For now, a simple beating I can handle. I have no choice, at least for this first time."

"I'm so sorry stranger, I never wanted this for you. What if I go to the police for you?"

"Absolutely not! That is not how I want this handled! Doesn't matter who goes to the police on my behalf, when they get their hands on me I'll be walking without any toes."
