The One And The Only.

Chapter 1: Amanda's POV

Today was Monday, the first day of school for the 2012 - 2013 school year. This was the day I reinvent myself, because I honestly thought I was a horrible person. Every day I always screwed something up. Every single day.

I woke up, stumbling out of bed, walking to the bathroom and doing what I needed to do. Changing into red skinny jeans, a black and white tribal print shirt and black oxfords. I grabbed my book bag from the foot of the bed and skipped from my room to the kitchen.

My heart raced at the thought of going back to the best school in the world, I had friends despite my horrible personality. Every one told me I was judging myself to hard but I knew that they knew I was horrible. I threw my book bag on the couch, opening the fridge, looking for something to eat.

“Strawberries, Honey bunches of Oats, and blueberries.” I grabbed the two cartons of fruit and placed them on the granite counter. I walked over to the pantry, grabbing the Almond Honey Bunches Of Oats and poured them in to a bowl. Sliced the strawberries, grabbed a handful of blueberries and threw them into my bowl.

I sat and ate my food, my mom left to work early and my dad left to work too. I was alone, I got up finishing my cereal and putting the bowl in the sink.

I grabbed my phone from the counter, and stuffed it in my back pocket. I walked into the garage, my keys laying on the small table in the garage and grabbed them opening the doors to my red Mini Cooper. I slid inside, turning on the small compact car and back out of the now open garage.

I turned on the radio, “My jam!” I smiled to myself, “You’re insecure! Don’t know what for! You’re turning heads when you walk through the do-or-or! Don’t need make-up! To cover up! Being the way you are is enou-ou-ough!”

My school was only about five minutes away, it wasn’t that far. The school was fairly small, but it held a whole bunch of kids, it was eight hundred fifty kids last year. That was a record. It was my junior year this year and I was pumped and ready to get started.

I parked my car, getting out and grabbing my bag from the passangers seat. That’s when I saw him. His beautiful blue eyes, straight blond hair, 6’4 structure. It made my heart race and my body shiver. I tried to ignore the fact that I liked him, I really did, but it was just so hard. All the girls fell for him, every single one, I was just another one of those girls. But I was the one who was never noticed.

I bit my lip lightly as I walked passed him and his friends, covering my eyes with my Ray Bans that were perched on my nose. ‘Don’t look! Don’t look at him! Don’t!’ My mind screamed at me, but I’m pretty sure he could hear my heartbeat..

Then I felt it, one foot in front of mine, no , it wasn’t me stepping forward, it was someone tripping me and now I was falling forward. I looked up to see who it was. A slender brown haired girl with piercing green eyes that were filled with hate for me. For what reason? I didn’t want to know.

“Watch your step, Amanda.” She growled.

I shot daggers at her with my eyes, “Maybe you should watch where you step!”

“The little girl earned a mouth this summer. Although she was using it for other things, right?”

My body flushed, nothing could sting me more. I wasn’t the type of girl to do things like that. “I don’t but I’m sure you do that all the time.”

“Haha. Whatever.” She flicked her hand at me and walked away.

Her name, Cassidy Jones. Her prey, Jake [That sexy beast]. Her motive, to kill me, to make sure that no one likes me, to make sure I have the lowest self esteem possible. And that sucked.

I got up, dusting myself off. Tears welled in my eyes, I looked up, my eyes meeting his then I turned from his gaze, walking away. Today, this first moment at school could leave a first impression for the rest of the year..

I made my way to the courtyard, I found them, my lack of friends; Gaby, Bella, Nicole, Zyanya, and Mayalisa. As I walked towards them, they all got up attacking me with hugs. "AMANDA!" Gaby yelled, she was the loudest. She kissed my cheek, I wiped it off with my hand, "What?! You don't like my lovin?"

"I don't like it when it's all wet and slimey!" I laughed.

She got off of me and looked at me, "Something happened.. What's wrong?"

I shook my head, "Nothing. Just Cassidy, being Cassidy."

Bella looked at me, "What'd this girl do this time?"

"She tripped me infront of Jake.." I sighed.

"DIS GIRL IS GON GET IT NOW!" Gaby yelled.

I looked at them both, they both protected me like they were my fathers although, they weren't males and were my friends. "Gaby! Calm down!" I hit her shoulder.

"I'm sorry, I hate that girl, you don't deserve tha- Oh here she comes now.." I turned to match Cassidy's eyes.

"What are you doing here, slut?" She growled.

"Umm.. Let's see, getting an education in acedemics while you are off felandering with the gym teacher and the whole football team." I snarled.

My friends started going, "OHHH!" or they just laughed histerically. Cassidy rolled her eyes and walked away. As she did I sat down in a plastic chair, huffing. Nicole looked at me, "You can't let her get to you, Amanda."

"I know that bu-" I just looked down, then when my eyes came up, I thought I saw Jake, in all his glory.. Was it him? I wasn't sure but, I needed to ignore the strong, super stong feelings I had for him. But sometimes when you have really strong feelings for someone, they get stronger with every look..
