I watched intently as the armored truck backed into the empty field surrounded by trees. I turned back to my teammates and gestured for Os.

"Is the bug working?" I asked, glancing at the phone in Oscars small hands.

"Seems like it," he said nodding and I grinned happily.

"Good tune in for us." The bug that the group had planted on Sergeant Little had been a great help in the past days including the information that another Super was found. Thankfully the Sergeant had clued them in on this little field and the team was crouched in the brush and looped around trees ready to save the Super.

The truck stopped and the driver got out and unlocked the back door for the men in the back. Two men jumped out of the truck, on of them Little, carrying a body between them. Os's phone started crackling with static but finally tuned into Little's annoying voice.

"Careful now Palmer, you're gonna drag me down with the little rat," the man said and I watched as the group of three stumbled away from the truck.

"Sorry sir," another voice came on faintly, Palmer I assumed. "Sir why are we out here? Shouldn't we be bringing this criminal to the airport for transport?"

"We were," Little said, "but I got special orders on the way that we needed to dispose of this one. You see Palmer, when there are powerful lowlifes like this we need to dispose of them before they become a dangerous threat. New procedure that the General issued a few weeks ago." The large man dropped the teenager into the field and Palmer slowly let go of his other arm. Os grabbed my shoulder and looked out at the field.

"Where do you want us, Sandra can take the driver, Logan and Anthony can get Little and Palmer quick enough and then we can get the guy and go." Os said quickly, almost frantically, knowing what was going to happen.

"Hand me the binoculars," I replied and Os reached into the pack on his back and pulled the rusted pair of binoculars out. I grabbed them and focused them on the Super as the phone crackled with more static and Little was speaking again. The fat man pulled a pistol from his belt as his voice spoke over the phone.

"I won't make you do it this time Palmer but next time this is gonna have to be you," Little said.

"Wade!" Os whispered urgently but I waved him off watching the Super through the binocs. As Little was talking he seemed to be beginning to wake up and as Little loaded the gun his eyes opened.

"Wait Os, I want to see this," I said. Little aimed the gun down at the handcuffed guys head, his finger curling around the trigger. As the teenager didn't move I worried that I had made the wrong decision that would cost him his life. Just as Little was about to pull the trigger, the handcuffs around the teenagers hands snapped. He leaped up, his dark hair a blur as he hit Little in the face, then turned to Palmer. I saw him hesitate in front of Palmer, unsure of whether to attack him or not. While he stood there two men leapt from the front of the truck. I gestured urgently to Os and rose out of the brush.

"Go, anybody go take out those drivers and Os jam there radio signal, I don't want this to be a battlefield," I said and walked out towards the truck, which was basically a dead sprint compared to everyone else. Sandra and Anthony jumped from the trees they were in and ran towards the truck with Logan coming behind them.

The guy jumped as we ran from the cover of the trees to help him, Palmer looking equally surprised and frightened. I slowed down before I reached the Super, afraid that he would attack me. He looked a little younger than me and was a bit shorter as well and looked thoroughly freaked out, which wasn't a good thing. When Supers were afraid it was usually normal that their powers kick in which wouldn't be a good thing right now.

I was about ten feet away from the guy when I stopped and put my hands out in front of me.

"It's ok we are here to help," I said as Sandra and Logan beat up the officers. The kid took a step back and his fists closed dangerously. He glanced back at Palmer again before he leapt into the air, soaring high above the truck and shooting off into the trees in seconds. No! If he was detected as a bogey by the air force this would be all for nothing. I ripped the walkie talkie from my pocket and clicked the button on the side.

"Alyssa, Alyssa do you read me? Bring him down now!" I shouted. A resounding boom pierced the air as a blur shot from the treeline where Os had been. Alyssa sped through the air near me off towards the direction the Super had gone. She was out of sight in a second which left me with Palmer.

I turned towards the young officer and saw that he was still staring off in the distance where Alyssa had flown off after the kid. I hesitated but dropped him with a quick hit to the face. Palmer dropped down into the grass clutching his bleeding nose. Logan came over and helped me me pile Palmer and the drivers into the back of the truck.

"Do you think she will get him?" Sandra asked as she crushed the metal around the door so that the men would not be able to get out when they woke.

"She better," Logan replied, "if she doesn't we're gonna be in a heck of a lot of trouble."  I nodded unhappily and looked back up at the sky. If Alyssa didn't atleast take him out of the sky soon then this would have been for a nothing.
