"Does that mean you two are...?" I shot an exasperated look at Sheamus. Rey only smiled briefly and took a deep breath.

"Well... If she will have me, I would be honoured to call her mine."

I bit my lip in shyness and nodded. Rey smiled again, relief washing over his features, before wrapping his arm gently around my waist and pulling me close.

"Aww. Now that's what I like ta see!"

Sheamus grinned brightly at the two of us. I scowled at him playfully but for the first time in a very long time things felt okay.  We talked idly about trivial things as we all weaved through the hectic maze that was the London airport. Rey remained close to me the entire time and I couldn't help but notice the fear edging in his eyes. My heart twisted for him. When was the last time he let anyone see his face let alone so many people at once? Strangers, even. I felt myself wanting to comfort him so I reached over and gently laced his fingers with mine. Instantly his features softened and I breathed a little sigh of relief I didn't realize I had been holding in.

Finally after what felt like hours and millions of pushy people later, we retrieved our luggage. Rey and I parted ways with Sheamus as we all began calling our cabs to the hotel. I was busy pulling up the estimated time it would take to get there on my phone when Rey nudged me gently.

"Hey. Would you like to go get something to eat after we get our things put away?"

"Oh sure, that sounds amazing actually." I looked up from my phone at him.

"Great. It shouldn't take too long to put our things away."

He smiled and tipped my chin up with a curled finger gently. It caught me a little off guard and, nervously, I made eye contact with him. Seeing him this close... face to face in broad daylight rather than a dimly lit plane cabin... once again his features took my breath away. His smooth, evenly tanned skin. His deep chocolate eyes framed by long, dark lashes. His plump and smiling lips. Even his scar was beautiful in it's own way. I simultaneously felt butterflies at his beauty and saddened that he had hid that face for so long. He tipped his head to the side.

"Everything okay?"

But it wasn't just his face that was mesmerizing me. His personality, the real one and not the one he had created to keep the world away, was blooming in from of me and so much more gentle and kind than I ever expected. It wasn't fair to compare the man in front of me right now to the man I had sat beside on a plane just hours ago. And yet they were somehow the same person. I felt myself wondering how long he had hid this part of him from the world, how many had gotten to see this side of him, if things went well and I could coax him out of this misguided misconception he had of himself would he stay this way?

"You're beautiful." I felt myself mumble without thinking.

His eyes widened in surprise a little before he drew his hand away and shyly looked down. I silently cursed myself. Stupid, stupid, stupid! Why don't I ever think before I speak?! I shook my head a little trying to clear the awkward away.

"Uhm... I'm sorry."

"No it's uhh..."

"You don't.."

"No it's fine. Umm.. we should probably catch our cab now."

Thankfully, it wasn't very hard to catch one. And, even more thankfully, it wasn't too terribly awkward. Rey was quiet for most of the ride. We chatted idly with the driver about the weather and work. It was mostly quiet but it was a comfortable silence. We arrived at the hotel a short time later and received our room numbers from the lobby clerk. I felt a little dumb at being happy that our rooms were on the same floor. I was crushing way too hard already. Rey and I silently got onto the elevator.
