august 20, 1959

it had been over a month since vallory had been injured, and is very much healed now. she had made some new friends in the town, causing her to hang out less and less with the boys. but, despite the drifting, vallory still visits the boys every now and then when she has troubles and what-not. her mother had been put in jail for man slaughter, and vallory couldn't be more peaceful.

it was late july, almost august . alyssa blackson had went to the town pub for some drinks, some turning  into a lot and a lot turning into too much. a lady had accidentally ran into her, and alyssa went ballistic. she stole a random beer glass from a woman near her, smashed it against the table, and went for the lady. the lady apologized repeately but the drunken state that alyssa was in was too deep. she sliced the lady's neck with the beer bottle and threatened everyone around her with slurred words. she stumbled out of the bar and only made it as far as the end of the sidewalk before she blacked out, waking up in the police station a mile or two away from the pub. alyssa got studied and interrogated, but with the blood slightly splattered across her face and small shards of glass in her fingers, there was no denying that alyssa had killed the lady at the bar who took one step more than she was supposed to.

daniel was taking care of vallory, since all of their family was in new york or south dakota. daniel made fresh meals, made sure she was clean, bought her new clothes when they got destroyed, and took away her cigarettes. vallory was extremely happy. new friends, new house, new her. but, one thing that was always on her mind was the boys who accepted her when no one else would. the boys who provided shelter for her when things were going wrong. the boys who gave her hugs and kisses and a friendship she would never, ever have one like. when thinking about all this, she decided something needed to be done. she needed to see them again, since it had been a while.

she chose a pair of shorts and a peach colored top, and headed for the tree house. she opened the door and smelled the crisp air of late summer, stepping out into the dry, dead grass. she skipped along happily to the tree house. when she arrived, she heard the familiar voices of her old friends. she smiled at the sound. she climbed up the ladder and did the secret knock. a few moments of bickering went on above her, before someone carefully and slowly opened up the door.

"vallory!" chris cheered. she smiled as she headed up and took her usual spot by the window. as she looked around in the comfortable silence, she notice they have grown. their voices got deeper as they whispered to each other, they got taller than before, and they look like strangers. vallory, on the other hand, had grown a lot, too. she had gotten breasts a bit more developed than the girls' around the area, she had gotten a more curvier appearance, and she had definitely become even more beautiful, if that was even possible.

"what's going on, stranger?"
