The fun was all good until it wasn't. Lian suddenly collapsed. They called an ambulance and brought him into the ER. He wasn't waking up. After a brain scan, they were able to reveal what was wrong.
Lian had a brain tumor. Apparently, for the duration of his life, it had been making him superhuman. It accentuated his development and created a deity. Now it was killing him.
Once he reached his full potential, it began to weigh down his brain, creating excess hormones and other dangerous chemicals. He needed it surgically removed. He was to have a gamma knife procedure immediately. They kept him in the ICU until they could acquire a neurosurgeon adequate for the job. They didn't need to shave his head, since it was already buzzed well enough.
After the procedure was over, Lian woke up. Immediately. His wounds had healed already. He was also... floating?
In an amazing turn of events, it seems that the tumor was not what increased his growth, but was what halted it. His godliness was all his own. Now, without that tumor holding him back, he was able to achieve enlightenment. His soul was headed to Nirvana, which he soon realized. As he floated up, he did a series of intense backflips and broke free of the heavenly grip. He was not going to leave Hank. Not for anything.
As it turns out, about 60 years after this incident, he still hadn't left Hank. Hank's time to pass instead arrived. This time around, they both went up. Together. Forever.

PS I know this is a cheap ending, but I fucked up the whole story, so, enjoy ;)
