"Draco, hold still."
You say, tongue stuck out between your lips a little bit as you apply some more makeup to your friend's face.
It was October and Draco was throwing his annual Halloween party at Malfoy Manor. You always loved these parties because of how elegant they were. Draco never threw what was thought of as a 'normal' party with heavy drinking, pyrotechnics, and provocative dancing teenagers. He always had better taste than that, so he always threw more of a masquerade type costume party for the season instead. Of course, he couldn't control the way the guests acted once they arrived, but he could try by forcing a nice expensive elegant atmosphere.

"I'm trying (Y/N), but this stuff feels weird on my face," Draco says, wincing at the makeup sponge touching his skin. You let out an airy laugh and shake your head. You loved your best friend, but sometimes he could be such a cry baby.
"And why are we using this muggle makeup? Wouldn't it be a lot easier to just use magic?"
You continue with your work as you answer, "I don't know. I used to always play around with it when I was younger. I've just always thought it was cool how this stuff works. So much goes into it and it can look so real. So much more real than using magic!"
You lean back a little, taking in your handy work.
"Yep! You look nice and gaunt now, Draco! Just one more thing..." You lean over to the coffee table, grabbing a small prosthetic pack and open it, much to the dismay of Draco.
"Don't look at me like that! You're the one who asked me to help!" You say, reminding him of why you had come to the Manor ridiculously early in the first place.

Earlier in the week, you told Draco that you were going to come to his party as a victorian vampire this year. The dress you picked out was a gorgeous floor length (F/C) and black ballgown with lace and long black opera gloves. Much to your surprise, he offered to be your 'victim' if you'd help him look the part. You accepted immediately with maybe a little too much enthusiasm. He had been your best friend for years now and you'd do anything for him, but you'd always kinda liked him more than that. He was so horribly misunderstood, and he really just didn't know how to handle his emotions. You just wanted to pull him into a hug all the time, but you knew how that would probably look and didn't want to start any unwanted rumors, lest you face the wrath of Parkinson.

"Now, this will probably feel a little weird, but just bare with me here, okay?" You cock your head, looking up at Draco who gave you a small smile in return.
You took the vampire bite prosthetic off the paper, positioned it in the correct spot on Draco's neck, then grabbed the wet washcloth and pressed it against his neck to make the transfer.
"Now I'm going to have to hold it here for a few minutes to make sure it sticks," you say, looking at him once more. You could feel your heart pounding out of your chest. You'd been physically close to Draco before, but this felt incredibly intimate. Here you were, at Malfoy Manor with no one else home, sat on this elegant sofa with the guy of your dreams as you held your hand against the side of his neck. His icy blue eyes sparkled in the ambiance of the candles' light, making you take a deep breath to make sure you were, in fact, still alive.

You could feel your face getting hot and you knew that it was probably spread across your face in a blush. Quickly, you decided to say something to release some of the tension, "Your house looks stunning this year, Draco." You take your eyes off him and look around the sitting room you were in. So many candles littered the room, and the food and drink tables were adorned with beautiful black and maroon tablecloths and runners, with more candelabras centered on them. Draco had gotten out all of the Malfoy's best silver, and rummaged through the cellar for all the finest wines he could find. There were cobwebs scattered around different areas including the dark curtains and the chandelier, various other small Halloween trinkets, and black and blood red roses in singular vases on every table.
"My favorite thing though has to be the enchanted piano." You say, looking longingly over at the baby grand. "I've always loved the piano music."
"I know," Draco said, making you turn back to face him once more. "That was actually a last minute decision on my part. Originally I was just going to play some records, but I knew you'd love that." He motioned slightly to the piano, then looked down at his lap for a moment. A light pink tint could be seen underneath his white makeup.
Your heart felt full. Draco did that just for you? Could he maybe...? You didn't want to allow your mind to entertain such wishful thinking, so you tried to push it to the back of your head.

"(Y/N)," Draco said, causing the two of you to look at each other once more.
"Yes, Draco?" You answered, searching his crystal eyes for what he was going to say next. You could see him doing the same with your (E/C) eyes, as both of you just sat there taking deep breaths in complete silence.
"I think..." He starts after a few moments, making you straighten and lean in to him a little bit. There was a moment of hesitation as he was about to say something else, when instead he leaned his head down, pressing his lips against yours.
You were taken completely by surprise, and you weren't even sure if this was a dream or not, but you felt your eyes close and you leaned into the kiss anyway. It was the sweetest and softest kiss you'd ever experienced in your life, not that you had much to compare it to, and you never wanted it to end.

Draco broke away from you slightly, but rested his forehead against your own.
"I think you are absolutely stunning, (Y/N). Inside and out. I've thought so for a long time now."
"Oh, Draco..." you say, feeling your heart beat growing faster by the second.
"I never knew what to say or do because I didn't want to ruin the friendship we had, but I can't pretend that I don't want us to be more." Draco paused for a moment, preparing himself for his next question. Even though he'd already laid out enough as it was, he still felt a little nervous.
"I was wondering if maybe you'd want to be my girlfriend, (Y/N)?"
This time, it was you who went in for the kiss, surprising yourself. This kiss was filled with so much longing, and you hated that it would ever have to end. When you finally did break apart, Draco spoke so softly it was almost a whisper, "So was that a yes?" He gave you a small grin, making you smile. You gave him another quick peck on the lips.
"Yes, Draco," You said as you took the washcloth away from his neck at last to reveal the vampire bites on his neck. You reached over to the coffee table one more time to grab the fake blood, applied a small amount, then handed Draco a small hand mirror to show him what he looked like.

"Wow, it really does look real!" He gave you a huge grin, and you laughed at his silliness.
"You're welcome," You say, letting him grab your hand and intertwine your fingers.
"I kinda don't want anyone else to come to the party now," Draco laughed out, "I just want to spend time with you, love."
As if on cue, there was a loud knocking at the front door to the manor. The noise startled the both of you, releasing the energy that had built up around you.
"Well I guess it was going to happen sooner or later," Draco huffed.
He smiled and brought his lips to yours one more time while you were still alone, making you smile into the kiss.
"To be continued," You said as you pulled away, allowing him to get up and open the door to invite the guests in for the party. He turned back for a moment to look at you once more, "Oh, and don't worry about Pansy. It's none of her business, but I'll take care of her for you, don't worry." He winked, then continued towards the door. You couldn't wait til everyone was to finally leave at the end of the night.
