I sit up in my bed and look around my room. everything's normal.

The desk beside the door still has a cluttered mess on it and then the small dresser beside it. then on the next wall is a bookshelf, that contains the rest if my stuff, a couple of notebooks three books, and my satchel. then my bed on the third wall, on my bed the homework I had been working on is on my lap.

I fell asleep again doing my homework. good thing it's Saturday or I'd be late for school!

I finish my homework then I grab my notebooks and a book and stuff them in my bookbag. then I grab my satchel and stuff it in there as well.

As I'm getting dressed I remember that left the object in my jacket pocket, I check just in case though it was only a dream.

I change into a tight short sleeved black shirt and a pair on jean shorts get my jacket and check my bookbag: four water bottles, check, three packs of dried fruit, check, my notebooks, a spare change of clothes, and my pocket knife, check check and check.

I head downstairs and walk towards the kitchen where my dad sits drinking coffee and reading the newspaper.

" Hi sweetheart, what'd you want for breakfast" he says, I walk over to the cabinet and open it.

" I'm fine I'll just eat a granola bar" I grab a bar and a bottle of water from the fridge. " I'm heading out to the woods I have my cell on me". " Ok" he doesn't even look up. I walk out the back door down the steps and into the woods letting the cool fall air blow through my clothes.

I walk down a path that's worn down by years of walking. I continue around a corner and over a fallen tree. I know this path by heart.

I walk around another bend to a stream. the end of the stream is marshy and slick under my feet. about half a mile away is my tree.

The tree has no lower branches but little notches in the sides, perfect finger holds. I climb the notches, five feet, I climb five branches, ten feet, ten branches, twenty feet.

This is high enough.

I peer through the leaves and look out into the forest. A humming bird flies past my head to land on a branch just below me.

A rustling comes from a bush near the tree and the humming bird takes off. I start to climb down to see what it is. I keep my eyes on the bush as I climb. when I get to the bottom of the tree the rustling stops. I look around and I see what looks like a boy running away through the woods.

" Hey wait!" I start to run after him.he turns his head and looks at me. He slows down but I still can't catch him.

Then I see the black tattoo on the back of his hand. He looks back at me one more time then disappears over the hill.

I keep running till I get to the top of the hill but he's gone. I walk back home feeling eyes watching me the whole time.
