horror movie night / ❝i dare you to go in there.❞

On Saturday, October 27th, Class 2B was up and running again. Most of them had slept for over sixteen hours and was refreshed with the dawn of the weekend.Although Monoma was devastated when he found out Tokoyami had spent the whole night with Iwasaki ("those damn Class A brats!"), he quickly calmed down when he found out nothing sexual had happened (because of course, in the end, he cared about her safety).
The buzzing energy in the air was only multiplied by Kimora, who remembered the big activity for when the sun set that night. Maybe it wasn't a good idea for them all to stay up all night after they had just gotten over the campfire incident, but the girl refused to postpone it when she– plus Kendo and Iida– spent two weeks total planning it out.
Since the UA students technically had no curfew (they still had to let their homeroom teachers know where they were), they could do as they pleased into the late hours of the night. The best thing to do in those late hours was watch the most adrenaline pumping, heart racing, horror movies.
It had become a tradition, one could say, Kimora starting it during their first year. Class A and B of the heroics course would gather in one of the dorm buildings, and sit together with piles of food and stacks of horror films. They would then have a big sleepover, limbs clashing as they all spread out across the common area floor.
All 40 students would attend, besides Mineta who was banned right off the bat for talking about taking advantage of the girls when everything was dark.
Everyone had banned together when the clock struck 8 PM to help carry extra couches into the dorm building of Class 2B, Eijiro Kirishima and Tetsutetsu Tetsutetsu seeming to work together the best as they managed to haul three couches in five minutes.
Momo Yaoyorozu, Ibara Shiozaki, and Shihai Kuroiro passed out snacks once everyone was seated, before making their way to their own spots.
Kimora almost teared up at the success of the mingling. During the horror movie marathon of their first year, the two classes hardly spoke to one another. It was an unfamiliar environment to them both, only knowing their own classmates well, so they sat separated. This year, however, everyone spoke with ease and the sense of friendship.
Their two classes merged together in their seats, and an outsider would not be able to tell who belonged to which class from the way they interacted with familiarity.
Kimora sat on the floor with Yosetsu and Yui on either side of her, their shoulders flush together in order to maintain warmth. Fumikage sat behind her, criss cross on the couch, with Kyoka, Hiryu, and Sen sharing with him. Everyone else was spread about, adjusting as the opening credits of the first film rolled through.
They had decided on Dark Skies for the beginning of the night, something not as terrifying. It was a movie about an average family, plagued by curious aliens who sought to destroy their livelihood.
Since it was an American movie, they had made sure to turn on the closed captions for Japanese subtitles. Pony Tsunotori was the only person who did not need the words, being an exchange student from the country of interest who was fluent in English.
As the night wore on so did the fear in their eyes, gripping onto one another for a sense of security. They only caught a break in between the movies, when Midoriya had to switch out and replace the DVD's.
"I dare you to go in there," Awase and Bakugo had snarled in sync to the character on screen at one point, smirking to one another in camaraderie.
"You guys know they can't hear you, right? Ribbit," Asui hummed in slight concern, her finger to her chin. Bakugo immediately, snapped his attention to her, shouting obscenities and threats.
"Woah, calm down Bakubro," Kirishima chuckled sheepishly. Katsuki huffed in irritation, but complied as the whole room turned their attention back to the screen.
More time passed and soon the last movie was playing, but everyone was already asleep and snores filled the air. It had been a successful night in Kimora's mind, which let her sleep peacefully as Awase laid on her legs and she laid on Yui's shoulder. Tokoyami's hand rested on her face, but that was more of an unconcious accident than anything.
"They're all asleep," a deep voice announced as the person closed the front door to the building. Vlad King nodded in response to Eraserhead's announcement, and the two began the late night trek back to their own homes.
"We really got lucky with this batch of kids, huh?" Vlad hummed.
"Yeah. We did."
