About thirty-minutes, they've finally arrived. Kate can't imagine how hungry she was.
They stopped on a fancy restaurant. Relaxing lighting, worry-free atmosphere, and jazz music playing boundless around room. They ordered a bountiful meal.
When the food arrived, Kate abruptly stabbed her plate with fork making a screeching sound. "Where are your manners?" her dad said, mouth already full. "What, where are your manners?" Kate asked laughing while stuffing her mouth with the restaurant's delicacy.
They almost finished their food, when Kate's dad were making jokes -that he often repeats. The three glance at each other while her dad giggling, probably can't recover from the joke he just released.
After a very long pause Kate broke the silence, "Mom, Dad," she said, "Weird things are happening lately." Both her parents stopped from eating, trying to listen to their daughter.
"First I saw the dog, the dog that has a collar on, that states they've been watching me, and this ..." she rushed, while her parents strictly listening. "This dog, another dog, a colllar, that says the've got you Mom, and that's the reason I woke you up back in the car." She took a deep breath and exclaimed "And those dreams, those dreams, they only appear each time during my birthday, but from the day we moved, things are suddenly getting weird."
William and Gail glared at each other deciding who would go talk first. The two huddled making Kate not hear their conversation. After a moment her mom gestured at William to go tell Kate their thought.
"Kate," her dad said seriously, " There's this thing we want to tell you, a very long time ago, but we can't manage to find the proper timing." Kate gulped, anxiety tickled her guts. She looked at her dad-who's still sincere. "Kate ... Kate ... We always knew you were a liar!"
Laughter exploded in the silent room, making all the people look at their table. "Dad!" Kate run off to the comfort room, while her parents arguing. "That's not I want you to say!" her mom whispered a shout. "This isn't the right time" her dad respond.
Kate was mad and staring at the CR's mirror. "Why would dad do such thing?" she mumbled. Her hands turned into a ball of fists, with teeth grinding she stared at the reflection of herself.
It's been minutes now until she noticed that someone was breaking the glass. She ignored it, though it would really make her feel satisfied if the mirror would shatter. Still grinding she noticed that the hairline cracks in the mirror were getting longer. It was her, she was making the cracks. She should be amazed by now, but no! She can control her temper no more. She continued grinding her teeth, when suddenly her mom appeared. " Kate, let's go-" before she could finish, the glass broke, making all the fragments fly in every direction. She saw a phone-size piece of the mirror going in Kate's head while she was crouching. Her mom grabbed her immediately making the glass stabbed her hands. As one of Gail's finger were cut, Kate saw it regenerate.
"Mom" she said shaking, "Your hands?"
"What about them?" her mom replied.
Kate rubbed her eyes with strength "But ... but, oh well never mind."
With eyebrows raised and arms folded leaning in the bathroom's wall her mom said " I better let the doctors check on you, Kate" gesturing at Kate to follow her " You're seeing things." Was it all because of anger? Were all of those real?
Kate was so confused and somewhat depressed.
"Let's go, William." her mom screamed at the man who's 20 feet away, still eating, "We should let Kate rest, she's been seeing things, Lets go!"
They drove, until Kate noticed that the road was exactly like the road in her dreams.
"Mom, can you describe the road?" she asked, "Please."
"Sunny, bright, full of trees, houses are nice, flowers dancing with the wind direction," She noticed that her daighther was now asleep.
She stopped talking to Kate and mumbled, "Rest my child, there's a lot for you to learn."
