Prologue
The island of Balasque is one big kingdom where it is always night time. The island is full of fields and hills and mountains. The grass and trees are scarce in the land due to lack of sunlight. However after hundreds of years in this state, the people learned to live with it. Everyone was pale and it was always cold without the sunlight. The livestock grew weak without sunlight, and the people often became sick. There was always a need for fire for use of light and warmth. The moon was always a full moon and was very bright though. The moon still went up and down, but was never replaced by the sun. To them, night time was when the moon was not in the sky and day time when it was. There was always a dark sky, however at night the moon would go down and all that would light the sky was stars. After hundreds of years, very few people remember why it’s always night time. Some even forgot that there was a sun. People now just think that this is normal. That is the current state of the great kingdom of Balasque….for now.
