Prologue

Conscience. Moral sense. Inner voice.

These are words attempting to describe the indescribable. Human beings cannot scientifically explain consciousness, so we are left to speculate how it came to be and simply accept that our inner voice guides each decision we make, inevitably sculpting our lives whether we are aware of it or not. And without even a vague understanding of how we were gifted with such a voice, we blindly follow its guidance. Strange, right?

But what if I told you that your inner voice is not the product of your working mind, yet the guidance of your guardian angel shepherding you through life? How would you react - In disbelief? Denial? Are you perplexed, or perhaps simply curious? Are you laughing at the absurdity of this entire notion? Or perhaps you believe my claims to be downright lunacy.

I felt all of the above; thought of all of these thoughts when I was told the same ridiculous idea.

But I have come to learn one simple truth - things are never quite as they first seem.
