Sixteen years later...........
"Taylor-Jane Frayer, its time to get up for school! Your going to miss your bus! I woke up with a start. Oh right, I was starting at my new school today. I lazily got up out of bed and went into my bathroom in desperate need of a shower. We moved to Jacksonville, California two days ago, though we stil haven't up packed. We used to live in Brisbane, Australia, but moved up here because my mum wanted for us to live in our hometown. I don't remember this place at all because my mother and I moved to Australia when I was two, just after my father died in a tragic car crash. I wasn't too keen on moving, but my mother insisted we did, and I didn't want to disappoint her. I said goodbye to all my friends and that I would miss them even though I got their numbers. I don't feel excited about a new school but hey, as long as there are guys, that aren't total retards, I'm totally up for it.
I quickly had a shower and got dressed. As it was my first day I thought I might as well make a good impression of myself. I wore my ripped jeans, black top with a red heart that has a cut on it with my black leather wedge boots and leather jacket. I know, right? A lot of black. I'm kind of a hard Badass chick, says my old friends in Australia, but I am nice,well.... sometimes and it depends who. When my hair was dry I straightened it, so it went with what I wore. I ran downstairs to find my mother just serving my breakfast, bacon and eggs on toast.
"Thanks, Mum."
My mother was probably the sweetest, generous mother you could ever hope for. She supports me in all I do, I can talk to her about everything, and she helps me with my homework. Hey, don't judge me. I might be Badass, but that doesn't mean I'm a genius at algebra.
"Excited about your first day at Jacksonville High?" she asked enthusiastically.
"It will definitely be different. I'm just afraid I won't fit in, that people won't like me because of my attitude," I said doubtfully.
"Hey, knowing you, you'll fit in just fine. I've seen your attitude, the good side and your personality, you'll be fine."
That's my mum. How could you not love that?
"Thanks, Mum. I better go if I want to catch the bus."
"Ok, honey. I'll see you this afternoon."
She kissed me goodbye and I grabbed my bag and headed for the bus stop. I had just got there when the bus came screeching around the corner. As it stopped in front of me, I took deep breath and stepped on the bus.
"Good Morning," I said to the bus driver.
He was a short, round man, with a buddy, Brown mustache. He smelt of rotting fruits, which nearly made me gag. I looked around for spot to sit. I found one in the back row and headed for it, just as the bus started moving again. As I walked down the aisle, I noticed that all the other students had stopped talking and were staring at me. I quickly sat down in the middle of the back row , everyone's eyes still locked with mine, when we stopped again and a group of guys get on. I had to say, they looked pretty hot, but then i saw that they were football jocks and i rolled my eyes. They were always the morons. I just sat there. not caring about them as they got on. I then felt a someone tug on my jacket and turned to face a tall, slim girl, about my age.
"Hey, word of advice, don't sit in the year 12 jock's seats, otherwise you'll get pummeled " she whispered.
"Don't worry bout me. They won't lay a finger on me, or fist for that matter," I reassured as they walked up and stood right in front of me.
"Oi, new girl. Get out of our seat!" the guy who was facing me demanded.
"Don't see a name on it. Why don't find another seat Jack ass. You know, for a guy thats as hot as you, you're a dickhead."
