4. LAURA AND BRUCE POV

LAURA MATTHERS POV:
I returned to my office after briefly meeting everyone in the room, I've also finished reading all the paperwork on what my job involves. I'm rather excited to meet S.H.I.E.L.D since they were in charge of the Avengers who fought for New York, I wasn't here when it happened, I was still living in California, but I saw it on the news. I know that the team is made up of Iron Man, the Hulk, Hawkeye, Black Widow, Captain America and Thor. Out of those names the only ones I know the identity of are Captain America, the WW2 super soldier Steve Rogers and Iron Man, Tony Stark, my boss.

It's good to know there are people out there, looking out for us, keeping us safe.

There's a knock on my door, I get up and open to find a woman with dark brown hair in a bun, beside her is a dark-skinned man with an eyepatch, I step aside and open my door fully. The pair step in, the woman takes the door from me and closes it "Agent Maria Hill." She holds out a hand and I shake it, the man takes my hand next "Director Nick Fury." I realise by the way they're looking at me they're trying to intimidate me so I stand tall and smile "Laura Matthers." I remain silent while they tell me about S.H.I.E.L.D and ask me strange questions, the one that catches me is "Why is your childhood inaccessible?"

Because the Police were willing to give me a fresh start and a brand new life? You know what, I'll explain it just like that.

BRUCE BANNER POV:
The tower has finally been fixed and the new floors added, Tony and Fury decided this is now the Avengers Tower rather than Stark Tower. Fury thinks it'll be better to keep us all in one place for when we're needed and we've now got plenty of space. They're currently on their way here, Laura is setting them up with the security system so they can get passed the working floors to the bedroom and Avengers half of the tower. I'm currently waiting outside for them to arrive.

This should be nice, having the group back together, having people to save me from Tony. Laura's really nice but she doesn't seem to have much of a sense of humour, she smiles a lot but I don't think I've ever heard her laugh.

The others arrive and I lead them to the elevator, we step in and I scan my thumb "Main floor please JARVIS." The elevator starts moving, as soon as we arrive in the living room everyone puts their luggage down and has a look around. Tony pops up from behind the bar "Welcome everyone to my tower! Brucie will give you a tour and show you to your rooms, but first you need to be set up with security. Laura will be up in a minute to do so, sit down, relax."

A few minutes later the elevator opens to reveal Laura, she has her reading glasses on and is carrying a tablet in her hands. Tony whistles to gain the attention of everyone since they had started catching up with each other "Everyone, this is Laura Matthers, she works for me."
