Max lazily rubs his eyes and rolls over in bed as the annoying sound of his alarm blares over and over again in his face. He decides he's going to give in to the hellish sound and sits up in his bed.
After pushing his brown curly bed hair out of his face, he climbs out of bed, of course, not before turning off that damned alarm, and hops into a before school shower. Well, if the shower will turn on, that is.
"Oh my god!" He yells, hitting the shower button with the palm of his hand, as if anyone would hear him yelling.
After a couple of minutes of strenuous yelling and smacking the shower, it actually decides to turn on. "Finally." Max mutters, clearly unimpressed by the whole situation. Since he had the issue with the shower you know, not doing what it was made to do, Max only has like 2 minutes in the shower because it's nearly time for him to leave for school.
Once he's out of the shower, he unlocks his phone, entirely ignoring the two notifications he has, and turns on his playlist, but, shuffled of course. Lie to me by 5 Seconds of Summer comes on and he smiles to himself a little and gets dressed into his school uniform.
His uniform consists of a blue blazer, a blue and red striped tie, a pair of blue shorts and all topped off with a pristinely ironed white shirt. Max chuckles to himself in the mirror as he stares at his own reflection whilst combing his hair to make it look the least bit presentable.
"You know what, I'm not gonna dry my hair today." The boy confidently says to his own reflection in the mirror, knowing full well he's going to regret that pretty soon.
He pauses his music and shoves his phone into his pocket as he saunters downstairs and into the kitchen. He grabs a slice of toast from the plate situated on the counter and his Dad ruffles his hair. "Morning buddy, got a girlfriend yet?" Max physically squirms under that comment, just uncomfortably shaking his head. "I'm just pulling your leg mate." Max just uncomfortably smiles and nods, trying to get out of the kitchen as quickly as possible.
Literally quicker than he's ever done before, Max grabs his school bag, pretty much throws it over his shoulder, not even checking to see if he has all the right things in there yet, and toes on his school shoes. It seriously takes him like 20 seconds, that's gotta be a new record or something.
Just as he's trying to bustle himself out of the door and to his best friend, Eli's house, his Mum approaches him. "Bye honey, by the way, here's your reading book, wouldn't want you to forget." She says sweetly, pinching Max's cheek and right after kissing the same spot. Max smiles and takes the book she's holding out. "Okay, bye Mum." He says in a fed up manner, as he walks out of the front door.
