The rest of Castiel's day was normal. That is until his phone pinged with a message from an unknown number. Castiel speedily whipped out his phone knowing exactly who the unknown number belonged to.

Unknown: Hey, it's Dean from the bus.

Castiel smiled at the message picturing Dean in his mind. He typed back a quick message.

Castiel: Hello, Dean. What are you doing tonight?

Castiel's phone pinged only a second after he sent the message.

Dean: Glad you asked because I was going to see a movie tonight but my buddy just bailed. Do you want to go?

Castiel almost jumped out of his seat. Did Dean Winchester just ask him on a date? He attempted to clam his thoughts. Maybe it isn't a date. Maybe it's just as friends. They had only just met that day.

Castiel: I'd love to go!

Dean: Great, and my car is fixed so I'll pick you up at 6.

Castiel set his phone down. He had a maybe date. He peeked at the digital clock on the counter. He had a maybe date that was happening in thirty minutes. He flew off the couch and ran to his small bedroom.

He quickly picked out a semi-decent outfit. He ended up with blue skinny jeans and a plain v-neck t-shirt. He tossed his trench coat on over it all and went to work on his hair. He started with gel and ended up washing it all out and letting it go.

His phone pinged again a few minutes later.

Dean: Hey I forgot to ask for your address earlier.

Castiel: It's 346 Lincoln Ave. I'll meet you out front.

Dean: Sounds good. I can't wait for tonight.

Castiel almost squealed. Now tonight definitely sounded like a date.

Castiel: Me neither, Dean. See you at 6.

Castiel bounced around his apartment for the next ten minutes waiting for Dean to announce he was there. When he finally got the text, Castiel rushed down two flights of stairs to meet Dean.

He was standing outside of a sleek black car, his arms crossed over his chest. He wore the same black skinny jeans from before with a nicer button on. His leather jacket was draped over his shoulders. Dean was staring at his feet which were kicking pebbles around.

"Hey Dean." Castiel spoke softly, so he wouldn't scare the man.

Dean's head whipped up, a smile gracing his features at the sight of Castiel. "You look great buddy."

Dean moved aside opening the passenger-side door. Castiel blushed and slid into the car. Dean sat down a moment later, staring up the car.

"You have a very nice car Dean." Dean looked thrilled, as if it was the first time anybody had ever mentioned the beauty of his car.

"Thanks, Cas." His smile was blinding. "She's a 1967 Impala, black of course." Castiel let out a small laugh at his enthusiasm, which drew a blush from the other man.

The rest of ride was quiet. Aside from the old rock music that poured out the speakers. They arrived the theater a little over an hour before the movie was supposed to start.

"Since we got her so early we could go get something to eat," Dean suggested. "I know a great little diner, its just around the corner."

Castiel nodded, his lips turning upward at the thought of a good burger.

They got to the diner a few minutes later. Dean lead Castiel to a corner booth in the back of the diner.

Dean sat on the opposite side of the booth scooted halfway in. He was just staring at Castiel. Then a short blonde slid into the seat next to Dean. Both men were surprised, but Dean seemed to relax when he saw her.

"So listen up pretty boy," Castiel was taken aback. Was she talking to him. She was making direct eye contact with Castiel now so he stared back. "Dean here doesn't bring dates around that often. Which means he really likes you, so you better treat him good or the next time you're here the entire kitchen staff will spit in your food." With that she stood up leaving both boys blushing.

Dean spoke first his blush seeming to calm down quicker than Castiel's. "So that was Jo, she's my cousin and I probably should have warned you."

Castiel laughed, "So, um, is this a date?" The other man looked down a blush evident on his face.

"I mean, that's kind of what I was going for," Dean looked up to see Castiel's surprised face and quickly continued. "But it doesn't have to be. We can be just friend it's really up to you. You know whatever you want."

Their eyes met and Castiel reached across the table grasping Dean's hand in his own. "Date it is then."

The rest of the evening went smoothly. They held hands throughout the movie and ended up back at Dean's house afterwards. They talked just about all night before both ended up asleep on Dean's couch. And the next morning Castiel didn't even care that he was late to work.

Wow so apparently I can't even keep up with a one-shot book. I ended this horribly so I'm sorry but it wasn't even good to start with and I'll probably delete it once I have other one-shots up. Peace out my dudes.
