Robin Sinclair sat at her office table, her legs crossed over one another and a pen in the corner of her lips. She tapped her foot impatiently under her desk.

Where was he?

She put her pen in her pencil holder and busied herself by stacking files on top one another and shuffling them even atop her desk in exasperation.

She looked at her silver Rolex in agitation. If he kept this up he will never hear the end of it. One more late day and he will go back to working at that restaurant truck that he complained he hated so much. He really wasn't making an effort if he wanted to keep this job.

She checked her iPhone screen for any calls or text. As usual there weren't any. Of course there weren't. Robin never got calls or messages unless it was from family, and those she usually received when she was too busy to take.

Just then the the door to her office rocked in on itself and slammed against her creme walls, startling her to attention.

In came the very man that caused her aggravation.

His suite looked hastily put on, and his tie swept over his shoulder as if he had run all the way there.

But he looked gorgeous nonetheless. His caramel skin looked like it had been painted by the gods and his windswept curls looked soft enough to tread your hands through. Not to mention his physique that resembled Michael Angelo's sculptures.

"Sorry, I'm late!" His deep gravelly voice riveted. He comes inside and sets a steaming coffee on her desk.

"Traffic was busting this morning." He states stepping away from her desk.

Robin narrowed her eyes at him and took another look at her watch.

"Late is an understatement. Traffic is not a reason for being twenty minutes behind ! "Robin fumes, incredulous.

Traffic? Really? New York was always full of plenty of traffic and everyone else's assistants seem to be able to make it in on time.

"That is not an excuse and you know it Mr. Rameriz."

Her assistant visibly stiffens at the use of formality and his perfect, acute jaw clenched.

"Mr. Rameriz is my father Ms. Sinclair. I'd prefer you call me Adam."

Robin rolls her eyes and picks up the coffee he placed at her desk, blowing at the steam before taking a cautious sip.

Adam, her assistant obviously had some daddy issues he needed to take care of. Calling him Mr. Rameriz was a way of maintaining professionalism in her work environment.

She didn't want anyone getting the wrong idea from her just simply calling him Adam. Surnames were just something she preferred to go by unless she was close. Which she tended not to be with anyone other then her best friend Ethel or her family.

"Well Adam, have you faxed those papers I asked you to yesterday?" She asks, setting down her coffee.

Adam clears his throat, pulling his tie off his shoulder and tucking it behind his suit jacket. Robin pretended not to notice how fine he looked in his suit. He was her assistant, they were nothing but colleagues, if even that.

"No I didn't have the opportunity to get to it."

Robin clenches her teeth together so hard she was on the verge of chipping one. She gave him specific orders! Could this man not understand English? She knows it's not his first language, but damn!
