During this whole state of depression Hannah had been going through, there was one thing that always seemed to be constant. And that was music. More specifically, it was Hunter Hayes' music that could brighten up her day more than anything else. She considered herself a fangirl. She'd been crazy about him from virtually day one. And that's been consistent to this very moment.
She'd heard he was coming to town to play in their arena but she couldn't get her hands on the tickets. They sold out in like 5 minutes. So she couldn't believe she was currently holding a pair of them.
"Em?...." Hannah started, then immediately broke in to a shriek of joy. "You bitch!" She joked, practically crying. Like I said, she was a huge fan. "How did you get these?! I've been trying for months, you know!" She was so ecstatic that she could've passed out.
Emory was laughing, incredibly pleased by Hannah's reaction. "Sweetheart," she said. "You have no idea how hard it's been not to tell you. I stayed up until midnight to get those suckers the night they went on sale. And you know how I like my sleep! I thought it would be a good way to get your mind off of things..."
"Okay, don't make me emotional, Emory." Hannah said through the biggest smile she'd given in the past year. "God, I love you, you sneaky bitch. You're my person." She continued, referencing Grey's Anatomy like they always did.
"You're my person, Hammy. That's why we are gonna start our "Almost Senior Summer" off right! And hopefully meet your future husband." Emory joked.
"Sounds great. Now we can do that as soon as you stop calling me Hammy." She smirked, pecking the tickets with a kiss.
"Yeah, I don't think I will!" Emory giggled, somehow able to find her way through downtown Augusta with all of the fangirling being done by Hannah. "Oh, before I forget," Emory went on. "Look in the side pocket of my purse. There's one more little surprise." She now had a smirk on her face.
Hannah looked to Emory with a suspicious but rather excited look on her face. She went for her purse and dug her hand way down the side pocket.
"You had to pick the biggest purse you own, right?" Hannah mumbled.
"Hey, little Miss Grumpy Pants! Just look!"
Hannah pulled out two badges that read, in big blue lettering: Dan + Shay + You. Underneath in smaller letters it said "Meet + Greet Pass".
Hannah's jaw once again dropped. "Dude. How." She couldn't even form words. "Did you get rich over night or something?"
Emory chuckled. "Huh. I wish! I found these online for cheap. My dad lent me the money, anyways. Just consider it a late birthday present!"
"Oh, so that's why I only got a pack of gum this year, huh?" Hannah laughed.
"So we're clear on the whole fact that you get Shay and I get Dan, right?" Emory joked.
That's always been their plan from Dan + Shay's first single.
"Of course, babe. I like my beards." Hannah smirked, her voice changing tones to something more sarcastically seductive. "But on second thought," she said. "You can have both. This is a Hunter Hayes concert! You know who I've got my heart set on!"
Hannah began to giggle. She loved joking about these things with her best friend. And now these day dreams were becoming slightly more real.
