Chapter 4

I wake up, expecting to be back in my house. I wasn't. Guess this is real.

I get out of bed and take a shower. After that, I come out to see newly folded clothes on my bed. It's just my clothes from yesterday but cleaned. Skinny jeans and my dark blue Canada hoodie with black Vans. Obviously someone has been in here, and I'm taking a guess that it's Claude.

I quickly get dressed and check to see if the door is locked. To my luck, it isn't. I decide to familiarize myself with the castle before I escape just so I have a better chance.

I walk quietly into the hallways to not attract any attention and look around the gloomy hallways. I walk further and further down and walk into a room that looks like it hasn't been cleaned or visited in ages and I shouldn't be in it. It's nothing but a dark room with a window to the outside.

I take a look outside and I can't stop staring

I take a look outside and I can't stop staring. It looks like a scenery I've never seen before.

From where I'm looking, I could see the top of a forest with thick trees that rest on hills. It looks like someone could get lost in there for a while. There was a pretty stream that looked so clear and the forest looked like the home to death itself. I want to go there. It looks so haunted and I love it.

Just then, I hear my name being called by Claude.

"Nola, come out! Please!" It sounded as if Claude was trying not to make it obvious that he couldn't find me; maybe out of fear of being in trouble.

I walked quietly out of the room and into another hall to make it seem as if I wasn't in the room.

"Nola, please."

I make my way towards his voice and sneak behind him. I tap on his shoulder and he turns around.

"There you are. Please don't do that again! I wouldn't want either of us to get in trouble." Claude handed me a small bell that looked similar to the one that Ophion has. "You don't have to ring it very loud, but no matter where I am, I'll come. So if you need me to escort you somewhere I can take you."

"Thank you." I take the bell and put it in the pocket of my hoodie.

"Just don't tell Ophion. You're needed down in the dining room with him." He began to lead the way to the dining hall.

"Can I go outside?"

"Not unless Ophion escorts you. Otherwise, it's very dangerous, especially for someone like you."

I knew what he meant. I don't have special traits like whatever creatures are in this...world. I wouldn't be able to defend myself if anything happened.

We soon came to a stop in the dining room. Ophion is waiting for me to sit down at the table and he pats the chair next to him.

"What do you want?" I sit down.
